Very high quality. Extremely sharp out of the box. Many useful tools, I have used most of them since I got it two months ago.

The design of this tool is wonderful. I purchased this as a present for my husband, and he was so impressed with the color and quality. He has spent hours looking at all of the different gadgets and how expertly it is made.

I have two of these SwissChamp models: one in my backpack and one in the car. One nearly always comes with me wherever I go. This time I ordered the black scales, which arrived yesterday. I’m mainly writing this review to affirm that the model with black scales is in fact the “plus” model, meaning it has the extra slot for the pen, which it comes with. Additionally, it also has the mini screwdriver “screwed” into the corkscrew as well as the pin, which rests inserted inside the scale behind the corkscrew. The plus model is the only way to go with these knives. I have been using some of my Victorinox Swiss Army knives for almost 25 years. The SwissChamp is bulky, but nice to have nearby. I prefer either the Compact, Climber, or Mountaineer models for everyday carry in my pocket, although the Ranger, although quite larger, is one that often goes places with me. Also, all Victorinox Swiss Army Knives can be outfitted with plus scales and fully accessorized. There is even a way to carry a neodymium magnet, which fits alongside the can opener. The hook gets a lot of criticism, however I have found it most useful to “click” the pen in place so the knife acts as writing utensil that one can actually grip. I have had several of these. This model, I have found is the best. It is a little bulky/heavy, but I wouldn't want to give up even one of its tools. The scissors are the greatest. The Philips screw driver that comes straight out is the only way to go. The magnifying glass is strong. The pliers while small are tough and work well. The pen is cool and when you are stuck without a pen or pencil, it comes in handy. I have never had a pen's ink dry up or run out. The straight pin is very useful for removing splinters. The tiny screwdriver is great for tightening glasses screws. The file, fine and coarse is great, sturdy, stays sharp. I LOVE the saw. It is Sooo sharp and stays that way. Branch in your way? No problem, no need to go get a saw. The most versatile tool is the main screwdriver/bottle opener/pry bar. All the other tools, can opener, fish scaler/hook remover, needle/awl and a few others are handy when/if you need them. Oh yeah, two knife blades, they are handy to have on a knife

The greatest pocket multi-tool of all time, I didn't expect the durability and greatness of this tool wow, I literally use it for everything, I had my doubts, I was thinking I was going to use it just for fishing, wrong I use it for everything, my wife loves fishing, we use the pliers which where way way more durable than Gerbers or any small pliers in comparison and scissors for tightening knots and and cutting fishing line, and the can opener wow I was skeptic bout the can opener, again Wrong amazing how it opens can foods, the magnifying glass, I thought was unnecessary but again Wrong, I used them to read labels on jewelry and small words on things I have also used it for Way more things, it's really powerful in the sunlight,it looks as if it would start a fire easily, I haven't tried yet no reason to yet'.i also used the needle to poke at a spider bite I had on my arm, and I took all the poison or puss out with it, and the tweezers I use them to pull ingrown hairs out wow, It's the Greatest all around pocket tool. Everything comes in handy, I'm so Satisfied, I'm going to get another one, when I can afford it, my wife claimed mine, but first I'm going to get my 14 year old daughter one, for protection against creeps, and the handiness, I can wait, they deserve them more than I. They're my world, them and GOD. '

Bought it to complete my bucket list 'bug out bag'. When I was much younger I traveled and hitchhiked from Montreal through United States down to the bottom of Mexico and back a few times and I carried this in my backpack (very practical for so many things I did). It had a few less items, don't know what became of it but I always said that one day I'm going to buy another one before I kick the bucket. It makes a nice compliment to a Leatherman especially for finer work so I bought a surge to go with it. Victoria was the founders mothers name and when inox steel was invented the name became Victorinox. It's a bit too big to put into a first aid kit so I'm gonna order a smaller ambassador model. They're addictive, but high quality does that to you. The magnifier is great for taking out splinters even give you a pin which was not included in the original unless I didn't see it. It's been 35 years since I had my first one, still the same top quality, nice to see somethings don't change.
