Catches anything
I love this little lure so much and will continue to buy them here if I can't find them locally. I've caught tons of fish with this little spoon, it seems like anything predatory will hit it. I've had better luck with gold, but silver catches plenty of fish as well.

If I were limited to only using one lure...
It would be a gold Kastmaster. The only tough decision would be the size, either 1/4oz, 3/8oz or 1/2oz. I have caught every species of gamefish in the southern U.S. on these lures for decades.

Kast a mile
This thing cast a county mile in wind. You can retrieve at any speed. You can jig it as well. Use it for rock fish, Striper, halibut trout salmon etc. If you want to catch fish you cannot go wrong with a kastmaster.

Very nice lure!!
I really liked the lire from the moment i received the lure up untill i put it to the test. I actually hooked a nice size large mouth bass on the first cast!! Which was quite exciting. However the joy was short lived becayse i eneded up snagging it and getting it stuck to something in the water. End result was lost expensive lure for me. Hesitate purchasing again just for the fact of cost.

All hail the kastmaster
This is by far one of the most versatile lures you can have in your tackle box. Period. Whether it's casting, trolling, bouncing off the bottom, it can do it all. I have personally not noticed a difference between gold and silver ones but the latter have caught me trout in overcast/rainy days vs the gold one on sunny days.Given the weight on this thing you'll be able to launch it quite aways. I like to let it get to the bottom and then slowly bring it back (bank fishing).Whether it's freshwater or saltwater, this baby is a lure that you can rely on to perform time and time again. Use it with fluorocarbon, maybe a bit of scent, and you'll be catching trout for days.

The 1/8 oz and 1/12 oz are great for stocked rainbow trout!
I'm pretty new to fishing (started maybe two months ago) and just tried the Kastmaster today, fishing from the banks of the Colorado river: I caught three rainbows on them out of my five trout limit! I probably could have kept on with this lure but wanted to try out a few others and hit my limit with those instead. I was using the chrome fluorescent orange stripe, 1/12 oz size. These were easy to cast and flew surprisingly far given their weight. I think either the 1/4 oz, 1/8 oz, or 1/12 oz would all be good for 12"-14" stocked rainbow trout.Note that some of these lures either don't include a split ring, or the split ring has separated enough to look more like a spring than a proper split ring. I didn't want to tie directly to a faulty split ring, so I put on a small snap instead. My setup was to use a snap direct to the lure blade, then a 12" fluorocarbon 6lb leader, to a barrel swivel, and then to my braided 8lb line. The Kastmaster will definitely be staying on one of my lure rods going forward!

Great lure
Really nice lure, made with quality metal. Can take a lot of where and tear. Treble hook perfect size and can cast this lure a very long distance with its extra weight. Looks really good in water, replicating a bait fish. Havnt caught any trout on it yet, but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time. Quality product.

First time using the Lure with my new rod I lost it and the rod. Fish hit so hard I didn’t stand a chance.
