Doesn't cool the forehead.
I own both the Migraine Hat and the Headache Hat, and for my headache needs, the Headache Hat is much better. The Migraine Hat is more hat-shaped than the Headache Hat, and I find it fits best if you wear it like a regular hat, like the model in the product photo, with the crown of the hat centered over the crown of your head. I can get good contact with the ice packs around the top and back of my head when I wear it this way. Unfortunately, my headache pain tends to focus around my forehead and temples and behind my eyes. I have not been able to get the Migraine Hat to fit well in a position pulled down over my forehead. The ice packs make poor contact in this position regardless of where I put the velcro, it's difficult to get it as tight as I would like, and the brim interferes with my glasses. The Headache Hat is shaped like a very wide headband, and its ice pack consists of many small separate cubes, so it is much easier to wrap it around my forehead where I need it the most.I didn't realize it when I bought them, but you can infer which hat will work best for your own headache pain by comparing the how the models in the product photos are wearing each hat. Think about where your headache pain usually occurs around your own head and study the models in the product photos, then pick the one that has the model wearing the hat over the part of the head you need to cool. If your pain occurs in the areas that would be covered by a hat, get the Migraine Hat. If your pain occurs more around your forehead, temples, and eyes, get the Headache Hat.

Fantastic product, even if you're sensitive to pressure!
I bought this in July 2016, thinking it would be a fantastic use of a gift card. Once I got it, I set it up, stuck it in the freezer, and left it there until today. The thing is, when I have a migraine, even the slightest pressure on my head causes the pain to explode. It's like a bomb going off in my head, and has been known to cause loss of consciousness. I can't even lie down on my soft pillow.Today, I found the need to be somewhat functional so I can keep an eye on a sick dog, and none of my rescue meds have worked. So I thought, why not try the migraine hat? I'm now quite annoyed with myself for not trying it before now, because even though the hat is worn by strapping it around the head with Velcro it's still incredibly light. There is a tiny bit of pressure, but that's far outweighed by the cold sensation. As to how effective this hat is? I'm sitting upright, looking at a computer screen, and typing a coherent product review right now. With a migraine. I still wouldn't try to do any serious work that requires concentration, but the fact that I have even this small capacity mid-migraine has blown my mind. If you suffer from migraines - especially frequently - or know someone who does, I highly recommend this product as a way to get by.

This helps.
the person that designed this must suffer from migraines. For the folks saying it wasn't cold enough, you have the option to flip the fleece out. It's colder with just the fabric. Also, I'm going to see if I can order more of the ice packs. It would be colder with 2 in there at a time. with the cap piece on top, I could also lay something cold on top. This isn't a cure-all. It is meant to be exactly what it is. It's a way for you to have a cold pack on your head and have both hands free to do something. Better than laying in bed, holding an ice pack. I am thrilled, and wearing it at the moment.

My beanie migraine hat
I love this hat. I am a person that has been suffering from stress induced/ sensitive to smells migraines(best as I can describe) since 2004. I am in love with product. The pack makes the hat cold so it numbs your temples, forehead, back of your cranium. I fall asleep with it, that is how comfy it is. It is also an adorable hat. Everyone at works compliments me on it then I tell them what it is and they are suprised that is kinda is stylish. It comes with 2 ice packs so when one melts you can grab the other and replace it it also freezes pretty quick.. The hat has velcro on one side so it is very adjustable and will fit any head size . It comes with a little black carrier which is great. Very very worth the price. I will be purchasing another to keep at work.

Migraine Sufferers...CHECK THIS OUT!!
My Godmother found an article on this item in a magazine she was reading and sent me the article so I could research further. I've suffered from migraines since I was 14 (I'm now 43). I've sought every type of therapy-homeopathic, neuro, Rxs, injections, etc., etc.).I figured I couldn't pass this up as the price is very reasonable and they supply you with a backup ice pack. I think this is fantastic as I typically need ice repeatedly for hours. This product's design takes comfort into account more so than most other products I've tried. I used this yesterday for the 1st time and it was a very helpful tool. I'd be lying if I said it eliminated it, but it certainly eased the intensity and duration of my migraine. I highly recommend giving this product a try! It's worth every penny and is a comfortable ice relief without giving you a "brain freeze!"Another tip for migraneurs...use this item on your head while using heat (a heating pad, foot bath, or some form of heat) on your feet and you might find additional relief as I have, with combined hot and cold therapy. Best of luck to those suffering chronically like me. It's tough when others in your life have never experienced them and have no idea how damaging they can be to your mind, your body and tie life!
