Hate one of the ML but good plot
It was a good story. I really hated Arlo, which made it hard to read since he was one of the main characters. The writing and plot kept me interested enough to finish. I didn’t hate the book per se, but Arlo was way too annoying. It’s like he didn’t develop as a character at all the whole time. Don’t let that stop you from reading. You might not find the same issues I had with him; and, the plot is good enough to make you want to finish.

These opposites attract and lift each other up
At first glance, Cade Brixby and Arlo Gandry have nothing in common beyond some mutual acquaintances and a genuine appreciation for kink. Brixby is an aspiring Dom whose future with the Boston Police seems sure, while Arlo’s outlook is much less rosy and certain, particularly in the aftermath of having fallen prey to a human trafficking ring. Both men want more out of life, however, whether it be career advancement or a surrogate family, and each is tenacious in his own way. Brixby and Arlo are also certain they know what they want from kink, which can only be a cue for the universe to step in and shake things up, prompting each to reimagine what they believe will make them happy. And that makes things fun for those of us reading as each half of this mismatched pair comes to terms with the knowledge that what he may need to feel fulfilled is very different from what he expected.Arlo’s journey from apathy to confidence gave me hope while Brixby brought all the bossy-sweet feels, each bringing out the best qualities in the other as the spark between them smolders into a slow, satisfying burn. Arlo and Brixby made me laugh and sometimes want to strangle them but seeing them learn the best ways to take care of each other while never losing track of themselves was a pleasure.A big shout out too for a vibrant cast of supporting characters who embody the vibe of found family, and the hilarious Mrs. Zhao, outwardly surly but secretly caring, who brings life lessons and a side order of dumplings to those who need them most.

Care Package
Arlo had been rescued from a sadistic Dom who kept him in a cage. While in the hospital, he found someone he wanted to be his Dom, Officer Brixby. Brixby wasn't looking for a sub, but when Arlo refused to go with anyone else, he took him home to his small studio apartment. Arlo tried everything to prove to Brixby that he could be a good sub, but Brixby kept him at arms length. I enjoyed their journey.

A superb series continues
I love a good hero story and this one is definitely that. Officer Cade Brixby is just the man you would want to rescue you from a bad situation and they don't get much worse than the situation Arlo finds himself in. As always, Tanya Chris gives us characters we fall in love with and want to see together. What I also appreciate in the books in this series is the way Chris gives information about the appropriate behaviors in a bdsm lifestyle and the emphasis and care given to consent, aftercare and all the things critical to the respect of persons. You know that while the scenes are going to be incredibly hot, they are also going to be loving. The continuing plot thread of the trafficking ring is expertly handled as we unravel the mystery piece by piece in each book. I can't wait to see it all come together in book #3.

Didn't work for me
I love Tanya Chris and her books often have an intensity that is just off the wall. This book didn't feel like her others. I didn't believe in the MC's connection as easily. Perhaps because the MC's were so young (one was 24, the other was a very young 18) it just didn't work for me. The waif was suitably waifish, but the young cop did things that were so odd for a trained police officer to do, that it kept jerking me out of the world of the book to shake my head. I enjoyed the first of the series more than this one and hopefully will enjoy the third more again.

This next part of the trilogy is great
These books aren't standalone's. They need to be read in order. This second book is the story of Cade and Arlo. It's a story of balancing needs and wants against what your perception of a situation is. Cade keeps thinking that he can't be what Arlo needs, because of what Arlo went through. That Arlo was too young to know his own mind, as well. And for Arlo, how does he prove to Cade that he does know what and who he wants. The building of the relationship, the slow back and forth between them is beautiful to watch. How each of them come to realize that their first perceptions weren't as true as they thought.I love how the author gives an informative and insightful look into the world of BDSM. I can't wait for the next story in the trilogy, but I, like many wish it was going to be a much longer series.

I wish it were longer!
My only complaint is that it was too short! (Is that really a complaint?) I wanted more of Arlo and Cade. <3When I finished book 1 I was pleasantly surprised to realize this was a trilogy, but now that I've finished book 2 I'm so sad it's only a trilogy. Both books so far have had engaging plots and a cute, cuddly relationships, along with well-developed side characters (rare in the romance genre). It's perfect escapism. My favorite sentence: "It was fuller, more complete, than anything he'd ever felt before, as if every positive emotion he'd ever had toward anyone were wrapped up in this single yearning for the heart beating next to his."

Loved It
This is the continuation of book one with Arlo learning what a true D/s relationship is. The cast of players from book one are all back as they are still trying to capture the human traffickers preying on the weak through the Hell's Bedroom club. Caden is torn between his duty as a cop and going undercover at Hell's Bedroom. He's also starting to give in to Arlo. So much going on in this book but I don't want to spoil it for anyone. You'll just have to read it yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Fun second book in mm series
This book is a great read in this mm series about different subs and doms finding each other. This book focuses on a couple who had been thrown together in the last book and ultimately makes the point that each D/s couple needs to figure out what that kind of relationship means to them. Some of the bad guys get rounded up and some surprising ones get found out.

Good follow up
3.75 StarsGood follow up to the previous book. I didn’t like it as much as the first one but still very much enjoyed it.I loved Arlo and I enjoyed seeing him come to terms with what happened to him, from not understanding that he was taken advantage of and kidnapped to understanding that his master was not a good man or dom. I also enjoyed watching him interact with Mrs Zhao and trying to gain his independence.Cade was a really good character. I liked that he went out of his way to make sure that Arlo was taken care of. He tried his best to steer Arlo towards independence and to make sure he had options available to him.I really like in this series that the guys are not carbon copies of Subs and Doms. Their kinks are their own and often don’t fit into a single box. This feels very realistic to me because not everyone is a straight out sub or even masochist, the characters have their own personalities.Looking forward to seeing Sebastian and Tripps story and how the series

Great second in the series
I'm really enjoying this series and this is a sweet relationship. I was not expecting certain plot points, which made for a great payoff at the end. I loved that you get the continuation of the background stories from the previous book too.Whilst I think Arlo's trauma is dealt with sensitively, I still think someone who has been kidnapped by human traffickers should really undergo some therapy around this, instead of figuring it all out on their own with their friends who are not therapists. Maybe he will in the future but it seemed like something important that could have been touched on - love can't heal trauma on it's own.

Even better than the first
Ok wow that was an emotional and moving read. Arlo melts my heart I just want to snuggle him and Cade is a bag full of yummy and together it's just amazing. I really can't wait to read Sebastian's story because he kind of seems unredeemable but he has show glimpses of what might be inside and I just hope there's more to him then the cruel Dom we have seen so far and if this book is anything to go by then I know this author can make even Sebastian loveable.A few errors throughout the book for those people that find that a real pet peev but not enough to draw me away from the story.

Brillant
I stumbled upon this series when I saw this book, Daddy Doms are a joy to read and Arlo seemed like the perfect broken Boy. Overall a fantastic continuation of the storyline from book one. A few predictable parts but also a few twists, alot of side characters to keep track off but much easier this time around as we'd met them all before. Really looking forward to book three.
