Sturdy, simple, elegant
Bottom line: I bought this in advance of an urban bike "race"/scavenger hunt. Simple to install -- it took less than five minutes to prepare the case and about 5 minutes to install the mounting arm on my bike. It held up well to three hours on a 90 degree, 60% humidity day, 18 miles of on and off curbs, pot holes, turf, tree roots, setting the bike in racks, against buildings/poles, and on the ground. No wobbles or concerns, arm is adjustable (with one hand) for the sun angle and it stays in place. The mounting arm permits you to switch simply back and forth between portrait and landscape. Simple to connect and disconnect the phone from the mount and the mounting shoe is not obnoxious to have in your pocket -- no sharp edges, just a little extra bulk and it doesn't interfere with any of the features/functions (I didn't try NFC but it doesn't seem like that should be an issue. The mounting shoe is rigid plastic.). It is unobtrusive when the phone is not in place. I was pleased with this purchase and would recommend this item. The only caveat I have is that if you plan to use this year round in sub-freezing climates, I would worry about the plastic becoming brittle and possibly breaking. The arm seems to be aluminum or similar but the pieces that connect the phone to the arm are plastic.I bought a simple, TPU case to sacrifice to this bike mount ... interchangeable, custom phone case --> mounting shoe sticks to that --> shoe slides on and clicks into place on the mounting arm --> which is connected to the bike stem. I cleaned the back of the case with an alcohol wipe before applying the mounting shoe. The adhesive is 3M labeled. It has a rounded cut-out at the top of the shoe to accommodate a camera lens or fingerprint sensor. I have a Nexus 5x so the cut-out was particularly useful for me since my phone has the fingerprint sensor on the back. I left the case-shoe overnight to ensure a good bond. Before purchasing this mount system, be sure that your bike has a round stem cap. Most mountain bikes do; I ride a Novara hybrid. My husband's Trek hybrid does not. There is an alternate set up you can use to attach the mount to the handle bar - just make sure you purchase the right set.

NOT FOR USE IN CARBON FIBER STEM
Anxiously awaited the arrival of this product. Upon receipt was very disappointed when carton clearly states do not use in/on carbon fiber stems. Had to return. The quality seemed good and really did want it, so if you have a aluminum bike... go for it.

Clean mount
I was looking for a bike mount that would hold my iphone on my bike and be able to easily take my phone on and off of my bike. This mount by Carmilo appeared to be a nice solid design that could give me the features that I was looking for. This mount is easy to install as long as you have this style of stem on your bike. If you have the old school goose neck, then this will not work out for you. This mount only requires one screw to tighten to add it to your bike. After you install the mount, you just install the lock in reciever onto the back of your phone or phone case. The mount that is included for the phone adheres nicely to the back of a phone or in my case the back of a phone case. The only negative is that when you take your phone off you are still left with the raised mount that is kind of annoying on the back of your phone. I have recently changed all my phone mounts to magnetic style, so I actually modified this mount to utilize a magnetic base. This allows me to slkap my phone on and off the bike. This would be bad in a crash, but hopefully I wont have this happen. I know this is not the intended way to use but I though I should share how I made this mount the most useful for myself.I received a discount for my honest review of this phone mount by Carmilo. It gets the job done and is easy to mount to a bike. It also looks very custom and professional.
