Let me start by saying their biggest single mistake is calling this a cleaver as well as a chefs knife. This is a chefs knife. It is absolutely not a cleaver. If you use this as a cleaver, which means using powerful hit against a butchers block, you will damage the knife if not chip it. #1 it’s light #2 it’s thin. Those alone make for a terrible cleaver. It’s not a cleaver. You can’t put a hang hole on a knife and call it a cleaver. It is however a beautiful, very sharp, light, balanced chefs knife. It’s amazing. It’s comfortable. It’s everything a chefs knife should be. Thick base for your thumb, weight distribution is excellent. Incredibly sharp. I give it 5 starts as a chefs knife. I’d give it 1 for a cleaver. It’s not a cleaver so they messed up calling it one. Regardless, beautiful chefs knife. Highly recommend this CHEFS knife.

There really isn't anything to dislike about this Dalstrong Valhalla Crixus knife. The workmanship is overall exceptional. It is very comfortable to hold for either slicing or chopping. The blade is made from a 9CR18MOV 5 layer steel with a 60+ Rockwell Hardness which means it will hold a great edge over numerous uses. It is a full tang blade that is precisely tempered and has a beautiful sandblasted finish. The handle is made from stabilized wood and premium resin. The detail in the handle is extremely good looking with a nice smooth finish. It is overall a very well balanced knife that will not wear out your hand or wrist after lots of use. This comes all packaged in Dalstrong's premium packaging. Included is the knife, a Leather PU Sheath, and the Valhalla Series Pin. This knife fits its way into any cooks kitchen and will slice, dice, and chop with the best of them as well as be a conversation piece.

Bought this because it filled a niche I wanted of a thick heavy knife with a tapered end and this ticked those boxes. Impressively sharp out of the box, very attractive and so far durable and of honestly much better quality than I would have expected. It's as heavy as it looks, for me that was desirable but be aware of that

I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. He is a chef and he took it to work and everyone loves it. It is very sharp and he is enjoying it a lot. Dalstrong makes great knives, he had a few already and I didn't even know, but not this gorgeous one. Very happy with my purchase. He'll be using it forever, I am sure of it.

This is my second knife from this series and I’m just as impressed with it as I was with the first. I can’t sing the praises of this company enough. The blade it not only beautiful, and razor sharp, it’s also full tang and sturdy. I’ve got $200 Wusthofs that don’t have the feel of this sucker. It’s hard to trust a knife company that’s only been around a handful of years, when you compare them to the big boys who have been around for a century or more, but these guys have gotten the formula right. Outstanding customer service, a near perfect product, and outrageous designs. It’s great to see a knife maker thinking out of the box, putting out sick designs all the time. I’m working my way through buying the entire set, one a month over the next several months.

Extremely sharp knife. Pulling the knife out of the sheath it unfortunately sliced right through the leather buckle that holds it in. See pictures and videos. Very nice craftsmanship, ill update this and see how long it hold up if it degrades. So far so good!

Great knife the sheath is cheap and unfortunately i cut the retaining strap as i was pulling it out not too long ago.

You know, I wasn't sure this was going to be an effective chef's knife but it's great. I love the height of the blade as it offers a great reference point for making cuts and keeping the blade under control. Excellent balance as well. Terrific for those who like a pinch grip. Truly a pleasure to use once you get the feel for the design.
