if you take your time to really clean your windows, measure them properly, and use LOTS of soapy water you should have a really good result. The soapy water helps the film slide into position without sticking until you use the squeegee to get it all out. I purchased a film installation kit too so everything was ready right next to me. The challenging part was keeping the film flat enough to peel off the protective layer. I need my boys to help with that part. My tip would be to peel little by little and spray as you go so that the film doesn't fold into itself and stick. Once the soapy water is on the film and on the window and its pretty easy from there. Im happy with the result.Update: I moved out 2 years after this post and peeling it off was very easy. No residue on the window at all. It peeled right off like a screen protector off of a phone. I will re purchase for my new windows.

We have a large home with older single pane windows. Even with a brand new AC system, the house gets warm. We have double sliders in our family room and it gets pretty hot during the day. We tried this on the sliders first. Because they were a large surface, it took my husband and I both to apply it. It took approximately one hour to do all 4 sliding doors. It has a nice mirror finish during the day and the room was noticeably cooler. It also removed the glare on the TV. In my picture, you can see one side of the door with the tint and the other with nothing. Big difference! It darkens the room similar to putting on a pair of sunglasses. We just ordered several more rolls to add now that we are confident that it will make a difference.

All instructions were followed. Purchased to use on sliding door to my back deck. It was very difficulty to install. It took 4 people and it was still extremely difficult. It has lots of bubbles in certain areas (doors were cleaned). It is difficult to get a straight cut, would be nice if it had grid cut lines on the backing. It looks ok in the day, but at night you see all the imperfections. I wouldn't recommend for large projects. Maybe for smaller windows. NOTE AT NIGHT PEOPLE FROM OUTSIDE CAN SEE DIRECTLY IN YOUR HOME. You will still need curtains for privacy at night.

The item is easy to use on glass. I have used all of my window and it looks it block the sun. But when I stand near the window I can still feel the heat is coming through the glass which makes the room hot. So may be it works 10 to 20% and that it.
