Based on the bad reviews, I was nervous to get this. I’m only using it to keep a litter box in so it didn’t need to be great. It’s way better than I expected. The back isn’t wood so it would need to go up against a wall. But I’m pleased with it!

This (large) size is perfect for storing couch blankets. Nice and deep! Very attractive and no assembly! Hinge works nicely. It makes a click as it is opened, but I don't find that to be a problem. The interior had a somewhat strong smell to it, but I've just aired it out before using it. The back panel is not finished like the front and sides, but I keep it up against a wall anyway. Happy with purchase!

It looked nice...when I received it and looked it over you could see through the slats of the sides...Poorly constructed. It will have to be reinforced or a new one completely made with real wood materials. So very disappointed. I am a senior citizen and can assure you that there is no quality about this chest. I had to wait two months until this piece came back in stock. A hundred dollars plus tax is a lot of money these days. My buying days over the internet will be very limited from now on. And Amazon shame on you for selling such an undesirable item...quanitiy over quality these days......

I ignored other reviews that said the back was plain black and went by the picture of the product in the listing. Very disappointed that the back is indeed plain black. I wanted these to sit out in the room. However they are roomy and they do hold a lot which is what I wanted them for. When I am feeling ambitious I will pant the backs to look like boards so it matches the front and sides.

I LOVE this wood trunk! I wasn't looking for anything high quality. This is a very decent quality and gives me the look and decor I wanted for my living room. It's taller than most I could find. It does have an odor inside as others stated so it wouldn't be great for Linens or blankets. Mine is a greyish brown, not whitewash at all if that matters to you. Very happy!

Cute nice chest for my beach home sunroom for storing blankets near a daybed. Three stars because back is not wood and thin. This will be opened occasionally so if for this use, ok. Would not recommend as a toy chest due to chemicals/ greenish tint on sides.

This is a very attractive piece. Very lightweight which is perfect for me. Large capacity. Easily holds my many photos. The lid stays open at different angles (a little or all the way open) effortlessly. It did arrive with two small nicks on the inside but that didn’t worry me. Overall I couldn’t be happier.

So I searched and searched for a decent box that would look nice in my foyer to hold my husband’s dumb remote control cars instead of me tripping on them when I come through the front door. I found this nice-looking one and its dimensions fit the space I needed it for perfectly. Unfortunately, upon receiving it, I’m now amongst the others who find this box just mediocre and feel it should be worth a lot less.As you’ll see in my pictures: 1. It’s not white-washed. It’s definitely closer to grayish brown. Luckily it still matches with my decor, so that’s a plus. 2. The craftsmanship is garbage. I’ve circled where the planks don’t even attempt to match up. And the one on the right is slightly diagonal. 3. Yes, it does have a very strong “cedar” odor. I’m not sure if that’s real or not but it’s pretty pungent. I’m not using it for clothing articles, but if you plan to, I recommend what another user suggested and clean it out somehow beforehand. And 4. It’s a lot smaller than I anticipated even after measuring. I’m only able to fit two of the three cars that I needed it for into the box, so it kind of defeats the purpose of why I purchased it.One positive however is that it does come fully assembled.
