After reading all the reviews, I bought two 15 inch Ming Dak Day/Night Cycle Aquarium Lights for my 55 gallon fish tank. 18 inch would have fit in my hoods but I did not want to blow the fish away with too much light. So, as to the confusion. The online reviews talk about a timer for 3/6/12 hours. The box shows the timer is for 3/8/12. The instructions inside the box show timers are for 6/9/12 hours. I plugged in the lights outside the tank to test and my timers (on both lights) are 8/10/12 hours. The nice thing is the light intensity can be adjusted from 100% down to 10%. My fish are liking 75%. The night (blue), day (white) and full spectrum (red, white, blue) options are a great feature. There is no setting that changes the lights from night (blue) to sunrise to full day (white) and back to sunset and night. I think you would have to pay a whole lot more money to get that nice feature. Three of the 4 suction cups have been sticking to my hood which I did not clean before putting on so more than likely its my fault. I could get the glue out if it does not stay after I clean the hood. Overall the lights have been worth the money.

I have a 20 gallon long betta tank. I do wish they made a light that was a little longer for fuller coverage but it works great nevertheless because betta fish don’t really care for a ton of light anyway. I don’t know what people are talking about saying it’s not bright enough because this light gets BRIGHT. I keep it at around 50% for my tank and have it attached underneath the glass top. I like that it can be fully submerged or kept out of the water and the suction cups work really well. you just have to attach them properly. It’s honestly really easy to use regardless if the instructions aren’t in grammatically correct english - people will complain about anything these days 🙄. I would definitely purchase this light again if needed.

This is a great light for my aquarium. The only reason it isn’t 5 stars is the suction cups do not stick. I had to glue them to my tank lid, which I’m not exactly thrilled about. But it’s a bright light and the timer is accurate. Turns on and off at the exact same time. You can change the lights and the brightness but if it’s on a timer it defaults back to the original setting.But it’s not a huge deal to me, glad my plants are a bit happier!

This light works great, the timer is fantastic, I bought this for my classroom aquarium and I don’t have to worry about turning the light off when I leave. Is very bright and the children love the light and fish.I definitely would buy it again.

My 10 gallon’s hood light has been so inadequate that I could barely keep any plants alive. I’m more of a Walstad method person and less of a plastic plant one, so I looked high and low for an affordable option I could use with my current set up. Most cheap submersible lights on Amazon won’t work for plant growth. This light has red LED’s which plants love.I suctioned this light under the hood, where it is almost always submersed, and fed the cord out the back hole. It hasn’t lost suction, it’s been several months now, works great, AND MY PLANTS HAVE GONE NUTS!! It went from desert to jungle. I even got algae in my tank for the first time in a year! (It says a lot that algae makes me excited, but now this tank finally sustains life!). It’s overstocked as I grow out some babies for the big tank, but I hardly have to do water changes, just top offs, since the plants suck up all my nitrates! It’s even got enough “oomph” for high-light water lettuce (the main plant I have to thank for those nitrate levels).Highly recommend for an affordable, and aesthetically pleasant, option for a planted tank!

Brightness was good and color changing was also good. But stopped working only after 3 months of use. I would have expected it to work longer.

I really loved this light and my plants were doing so great, but then it just stopped working 😭 I’d only had it for about 2 months.

Cannot get the light to cycle from white to blue with timer, one or the other will run then goes off and I have to manually change it but the light is very nice like the look of the fish.

I really like this light. I installed 2x11in ones in a 5 gallon tank and my plants are thriving.Unfortunately the suction cups have little to no power so I actually ended up supergluing both lights to the inside of the aquarium light and the lights haven't come off or dropped into the water since.Will be buying 4 more for the other 2-5 gallon tanks.

I happen to have a deep tank and my regular light just wasn’t enough. I’m happy I purchased this as my plants are growing better and taller and I definitely see a difference.

First off, had to wait weeks for it to arrive. Secondly the box was squashed in the middle, so I already knew there would be problems. The light was squashed in the middle of course. The lights don't work as described in the ad. A piece of garbage, buy from a reputable company. That's what I have to do now.
