Bought the first one to get a bathroom ready for my father-in-law. It has stood up well over the years so bought another for the other bathroom as we have taken over the house and plan on being here for awhile. Nice finish and solid. I put blocking between the studs for both bars, as the wall mounts are mounted 24" on center, you will miss one stud on a standard 16" on center stud, without blocking. The first bar I installed I cut the drywall and installed a block then re-drywalled. Allows 3 screws per mount so solid. I would buy the grab bar / towel bar by MOEN that comes with a plastic mount "secure mount anchor" to mount to a hollow part of the drywall, if you did not want to put blocking for one mount. However wood 2 x 6 blocking between studs is still the best method.

We bought 2 of these grab bars and are very pleased with them. They look nice and are very sturdy. We had no problems with installation. One is placed vertically outside the shower and we use it all the time- it has been more helpful than we expected. The second one we placed diagonally on the back wall of the shower so that it can be reached if you have fallen- the only problem with this is that the finishing cap on the bottom tends to pop up because of the angle so that you have to push it back in place but that is not a big problem at all. I recommend this grab bar.

We are so pleased with our 24" Moen grab bar. This is the second bathtub/shower where we have installed them on ceramic tile walls and we like being able to use them, more so than we thought we would. I installed them so we could find it easier to "age in place". I wanted to install them while I was still able to do it myself rather than hire it done. We are both 75. The match the satin nickel finish to our existing fixtures is quite good and the design and sturdiness of these bars could not be better. Most reviews for grab bars in any of the brands have many complainers. I am glad I did not let them scare me off. I knew MOEN quality would be superior and it is. Thank you MOEN!

I bought this to use next to the tub/shower in one of our secondary bathrooms, so that while stepping over the tub rim when getting in or out there would be something to hold onto instead of just the weak towel bar or sliding shower door. The finish of the grab bar is brushed nickel rather than the normal plain stainless steel, so it matches the other finishes in the bathroom. The escutcheons on the ends are decorative and also help eliminate the institutional appearance of many grab bars. The bar itself is well designed, extremely strong, and the flanges allow for mounting screws in many postions to match whatever wall conditions you might have. After installation, no mounting screws are visible. I used a Moen "Securemount Anchor (SMA1000)" on one end of the grab bar, since it needed to be mounted on drywall with no stud or blocking behind it. It is a perfect solution when there is nothing solid to screw into. The lower end was screwed into existing blocking behind the wall. The overall mounting is so secure that I can literally hang off the grab bar. With the 24 inch grab bar mounted vertically and centered at about four feet, it can be conveniently reached and used by both children and adults. It simultaneously overcomes the hazards of a slippery tub, wet floor, and loose floor mat. The improvement in safety is dramatic with no real loss of aesthetics as the style of the grab bar is similar to a towel bar. I think a grab bar like this should be required in the building code for all tubs and showers.
