I at 67 have contended with a right side inguinal hernia since 43. It appeared for no particular reason. I have never had any intention of surgery. I am an inventor have used all manner of belts, spandex shorts with half a coconut shell from a costume bikini, sliced off 1/2" on flat side. Filled it with small round dollar store push on light. Placed all in a ped sock and placed dome side in over herniainside of compression shape wear. Plus a variety of belts, some good, some meh. There isn't much effective info or products geared to women with this affliction. When I first purchased this belt I only used one of the good sized for me, velcro backed inserts, not the belt. However due to the ongoing experimental nature of dealing with my situation I finally used the belt with one insert. To my surprise this belt far exceeded my expectations. I use a medium. The Velcro is strong, the construction well stitched. It lies flat. The straps are not too long. The only thing is to wear looser trousers or leggings under long tunics or long shirts to avoid the outline of straps around bum cheeks. This provides support and keeping hernia pushed in and stationary. The most effective belt I have acquired thus far. I wear it overThin slip shorts and yoga shorts. I just purchased another khaki model. The medium is smaller feeling then I remembered. The belt will stretch over time but remains useable. The insert can be repositioned as necessary. I could add more padding of my devising as necessary. First belt is over 1.5 yrs old. Has held up marvelously.If a hernia requires attention this is the best most affective belt I have come across in the 24 yes of learning about and contending with my hernia situation. I will be trying the single, right side black model in near future. This is a well made product and fairly priced.Good luck if you have hernias as your particular thorn.

Hello. This hernia belt has been good for me so far, the first 5 days. I have an inguinal hernia that just appeared a month ago and I can't do the surgery yet. The belt goes on easy and stays put all day. I can even do a light exercise, including leg stretches and it doesn't budge. The pressure on the pad can be fine tuned with the strap that goes between the legs. So it's as tight and comfortable as you want it. And it doesn't show through the pants either, at all. I suppose if one wore very tight pants it might. And I know it's working cuz when I don't wear it then the hernia starts to hurt after an hour, but while it's on I can go all day with no pain. On occasion the pad feels a little bulky down there, if I bend way over or sit in an odd position. But the belt/pad never feels painful or uncomfortable. I see no reason it shouldn't get 5 stars.Only one possible suggestion for the manufacturer: I'm wondering if the pad had a horizontal bendable crease at the center it might conform better to the groin area. The Velcro strap would hold the pad in place anyway and rigidity would be reduced.

This one is the best one I have found, is it perfect? No, but the key thing is to learn how to wear it and wear exactly to place the pads for your needs, I cut the 2 straps that go around your legs and shortened them because they were too long for me, throughout the work day it does slide down a bit but thats probably due to my flat backside, it is durable, it does help me, though its not a cure but I'm hoping it prevents my hernia from getting worse.

Honestly, I purchased one of these at a thrift store a few years back and have LOVED it! So I purchased a NEW VELPEAU (Black Medium) Hernia Belt from AMAZON! These are AMAZING! The FIT is perfect, and the SIZE and QUALITY match the description! The Velcro holds up to EVERYDAY USE! I wear it PLAYING PICKLEBALL and for DAILY USE! What a GAME-CHANGER for me because my doctor wants to hold off on surgery as long as possible due to a previous, prostate cancer surgery. With the VELPEAU HERNIA BELT my pain and discomfort VANISH! I simply wash it in the shower and hang-dry it. It dries quickly overnight! I prefer wearing it OVER my underwear to avoid chafing, and for added security while playing pickleball, I also wear a jock-strap over it. If you need a hernia belt, this is THE BRAND to get!

It went on easily enough and was not bulky under my clothes. I bought it to wear while riding my horse at trot and canter. I had too much pain otherwise. This belt did keep the hernia in place and was not uncomfortable. the drawbacks are (1) as soon as I finished my ride it popped off from the Velcro closures. had i been in public could be very embarrassing. I bought the small because I only weigh 120 and wanted a snug fit. (2) the pads are way too hard should be softer and more mold able to the body. I didn't wear the pad because it was way to uncomfortable. I would not buy this again. Not worth the money.

This is an excellent product! It works as advertised. The support it provides is fantastic, and it’s thin enough not to show clothing. It’s adjustability has allowed me to get the perfect fit to relieve the pain.

I ordered this item and the only thing that I received was two round circular pads. I did not receive the actual belt although I paid for it not happy.

The medium was a little snug around the hips, but still works well. We ordered a large too, and it’s a little bigger but works well also. We’re keeping both because they’re comfortable for him!
