I actually bought this to use when I am baking bread, just to cover my bowl during proofing ( having realised the number of disposable shower caps I was getting through. If you follow the instructions for making pizza ( i.e. dust it with semolina before putting the rolled out dough in it) it would work well as a pizza peel, although I have a metal one I already use, which is bigger. This one is big enough to make a large round pizza I would think. The piece seems to be really solid and is quite thick so would make an excellent serving platter as they suggest. I like that it has a decent rounded handle that is comfortable to hold, and comes with a pre drilled hole with metal rivet in and some cord ( possibly leather) to hand it up with, which is ideal for me in my diddy kitchen. It is quite heavy so perhaps not ideal for those with mobility issues, which I have but manage to hold it two handed. The wood feels oiled, which is great. I have wood oil for my few wooden platters and boards and tye handles of some of my pans however my sister reliably informs me that she just uses her normal cooking oil. This is important for wooden items that get washed, as without it they will inevitably split over time. It doesn't take long, just ensure the wood is completely dry after washing it ( I normally leave it for 24 hours as just drying with a tea towel doesn't dry it completely, and then with a little kitchen paper and a teaspoon of oil, rub all over and it's ready to go or store without risk of damaging the wood with all the soap and water. If you are just using it as a pizza peel, barring any accidents you probably don't need to wash it often anyway just brush off any excess semolina with a drey cloth. Very happy with it so far. Will update if any changes issues with the build happen but don't expect any.

The first one I ordered came broken the moment I unwrapped it. The second one was not broken and looked nice and made a good template for engraving as a gift for a friend.

Perfect dose the job

This is perfect for all those people with a pizza oven, or even a normal oven. Great for transferring the pizza onto and slicing up for parties etc.

Don't understand why a buyer can complain about the size when dimensions are specified in the description ! Before using it for first time I used mineral oil as I intend to look after this lovely board. Love it's appearance and enjoy using it. We'll done guys. John
