Char-Broil Deluxe 1010 3-Burner Liquid Propane and Charcoal Combo Grill

Haven't owned other grills, so can't really comment on the grill-ness of this grill other than that I am satisfied with the product. It is a bit large but the ability to do gas when I'm in a hurry and real charcoal grilling when I feel upto it is wonderful. Reasonably well constructed, not too complicated to assemble. The firebox is heavy though - definitely a two person job to assemble.The charcoal side is well designed, has a tray to catch ash and a nice access door in the front.I wanted to leave a 5-star feedback though for Amazon's excellent customer service. The grill box is very large, heavy and unwieldy - The first grill that was delivered to me had suffered dents in both lids and in the bottom plate. I was kicking myself for ordering it online. But when contacted, CS offered me $75 to keep the grill as is, or ship a new grill package that I could take spare parts from, to replace damaged parts. I chose the second option, they shipped a new grill, and picked the box up the next day after I had time to take out some parts, all without charging me anything. (I do have prime, but still). I am very happy with the way Amazon CS handled the situation, on time, with very little hassle.

The design idea and functional idea is very good but it was built from such cheap flimsy materials it is falling apart. The caster wheels collapsed in the first week due to the shotty workmanship and flimsy metal frame. They use to build a quality grill but this is a piece of crap and I doubt it will last a year.Do not waste your time and money on any Char Broil manufactured product..When I complained about the shotty workmanship and number of damaged parts Amazon gave me as much credit on it as they were allowed, just to show good faith for having it as a product line supported by Amazon. I was told I was not the first person to complain about the poor quality and workmanship.The grill I replaced was in far better condition after 18 years than the Car Broil was the day it was received.....How can they sleep at night knowing they are screwing their customers?

I was able to get this grill cheaper on amazon PLUS i got free shipping!! Big win! My husband and i put it together in a few hours and that was with a few breaks in between. The components are well made and very sturdy. For the past 3 months we have grilled 2-3 times every week and it shows no signs of wear or heat warping. Everyone we invite over for bbqs loves it. Most people didnt know you could purchase a gas and charcoal combo grill and its a great concept to be honest. On the weekdays we fire up the gas and quickly bbq dinner. On the days we have a bit more time we will use the charcoal side and we get that beautiful smokey flavor to our food. Beyond happy with our purchase, our grill is still the talk of the 4th of july block party :) We were able to grill chicken and kebabs and veggies on the charcoal side and at the same time quickly cook burgers and hot dogs on the gas side!

I purchased this grill when it was out of stock. I waited for the price to drop to the lowest I have seen, $292.00, then I submitted the purchase. Amazon doesn't charge you until the item ships. I was finally charged two weeks ago after about waiting about 3 months. The first grill I received was damaged. I called Amazon and they sent a replacement. Easy, no fuss.. no hassle. They set up the delivery of the new one and pick up of the damaged one. In total, it took about 4 days to get the replacement. So, I don't quite understand why some reviewers are having issues with their damaged grills. Just call Amazon and they'll take care of the issue.So, I built the replacement and noticed that the materials and craftsmanship of this grill is OK, not great. The metal is flimsy and some spot welds are weak. Some bolt and screw holes don't line up 100%, but I didn't need to re-drill them. I played a bit with the two joining pieces and managed to get the screw in with minimum effort. The charcoal tray that adjusts could use more time in the R & D department. As you raise the tray, it moves closer to the rear of the grill, leaving a good 6 inches or more of grill space without charcoal. I guess you can use this space as a warming spot.. I don't know, I'll try it out and see what works best. The paint on the grill is sub-par. If you dent it, the paint flakes off. Don't use regular flat black paint to patch up the paint.. Use High Temperature paint.The grill looks good when it is built. I could possibly get a good 3 - 5 years out of it. It's not a Weber, but overall it is a good combination of value (..at my purchase price) and convenience of use. I would not pay over $350 for this grill at this level of quality and craftsmanship..

Grill is working great although some issues with material quality. Charcoal side is good, good heat control. Gas side puts out good BTU's.The bottom section of it needs thicker gauge metal. It wouldn't hurt to use it all around though. The metal where the front casters (closest to the cook) are attached to the grill have bent which makes moving the grill a chore as I move it in and out of my garage to prolong the life and keep it out of the elements. Thinking of making my own cradle using angle iron to mount the casters to and just set this puppy on top of.

We already knew, after reading lots of reviews, that the material used to built it was weak, and even though we decided to buy it.. We took a leap of faith lets say... BUT we could not imagine that it was SO more worse than what we've ever imagined... After one week the doors are not closing anymore... It works good, but the quality of the material is a joke. No strength at all..What makes it VERY VERY expensive considering the quality, not worthy to buy.
