Perfect for what it is
The Fotasy adapter is absolutely perfect for using my old Zeiss and Yashica lenses on my a6000. Fit is definitely snug but not too tight, both for the body as well as the lens connection. Note that this is a "dumb" adapter; there are no electrical connections. Also remember that lenses from 35 mm cameras provide a different field of view when mounted on a cropped sensor camera. Multiply the old lens by 1.5 to get a good approximation of how it will act on the a6000. For example, my old 28 mm Zeiss lens gives about the same field of view that a 42 mm lens would give on a full frame camera, making it a great "walking around" lens. A "standard" 50 mm lens therefore acts like a 75 mm lens, making it nice for shooting portraits or getting closer to people's faces on the street. It's easy to use: (a) On the Sony a6000, use the menu to find the second settings tab, the one that looks like a gear. Toggle sideways to #3, then down to "Release w/o Lens." Enable this, which allows the shutter to be released even though the camera can't detect a lens. (b) Set your desired ISO or leave this on auto. (c) Set the mode dial as you wish. Most modes will automatically adjust the shutter speed based on how you adjust the aperture. In shutter priority or manual mode you will have to adjust the shutter speed as well. (d) Focus manually. This is where the focus peaking feature really makes life easier. It's not on normally, so enable it using that same gear wheel tab of the menu. Go to #2 and choose Peaking Level, and set it to low, med or high as you prefer. (e) Set your desired aperture manually. That's it.This little gadget has given new life to thousands of dollars worth of nice old glass that would otherwise be relegated to gathering dust.

Good value, solid and clean adapter
Great.. I ordered this adapter as well as the FOTGA and I like this one better. It's a very solid mount (no flex with my Yashica ML 50 1.4 and A7R) and the red dot is on the side which makes it easy to line up. The FOTGA has the red dot on the bottom, which makes proper alignment when mounting the adapter an exercise in spatial memory (of which I consistently seem to fail).I've taken a LED flash light and tried to get light leaks and flaring around the adapter mount (both at the lens and body) and saw no issues.I've never owned the more expensive C/Y adapters, though I do own a Metabones III for my Canon EF lenses. While the build quality is not as solid and precise as the Metabones, the Fotasy adapter is still solid and clean.Just a tip, as I own quite a number of adapters. When you get any adapter in, definitely spend a few moments to blast it with compressed air. There can be dust and other particles that will end up on your sensor if you don't.

just an shape adapter, no autofocus
The rating here is misleading. There's no autofocus. And the image quality is dependent on your lens. It's not Perfectly made, but it's nice enough I feel fine trusting the lock and the lens on the camera. This thing is Just an adapter to fit the CY lens to an E-Mount camera. It's probably only going to work for mirrorless also. But it allows you to get a nice cheap 1.7f lens with decent glass and use it on a relatively cheap camera. You just lose autofocus. So stick with controlled video and photography. Video is much more forgiving than photos.

It does what I need it to
There's a lot of debate over which adapters are good enough for the a7R, but in the end adapting any lens is still a compromise over using a native lens. I have no complaints about this adapter, it seems to work well and it does what I need. I've had no issues using it with any of my Contax Zeiss lenses . The fit is good, without being overly snug or sloppy. I haven't noticed any reflections, but I haven't used it extensively yet.

I've had other adapters that worked better. I would spend 6 bucks more and get ...
This is a 14 bucks adapter, so I can't complain too much. However, it is very tight when trying to twist onto the lens and then also has issues with the lock pin engaging, preventing it from holding the lens securely. I've had other adapters that worked better.I would spend 6 bucks more and get the slightly more expensive but higher quality options from other sellers.
