A supreb knife for most needs
Off Grid knives are really built well. Their materials and construction are above most of the competition. This Caiman is a perfect example of that. The clip point blade will pierce and cut through very easily. Its blade is well designed for this, nice thin ground edge and excellent jimping along the spine for great thumb placement. The handle fits my XL hands very comfortably, in forward or reverse grip. Flipper and ball bearing action deploys the blade smooth and fast. The titanium nitride coating on the blade adds excellent corrosion protection to its cryo treated 60 HRC tempered blade. The scales offer enough traction without being aggressive. For the price and quality, you are getting your money's worth. Highly recommended for most tasks.

The knife is solid and durable
I’m using the knife as my EDC. I’ve owned it for a little over a month and I probably use it minimum of 10x’s per day. It was a little stiff deploying for the 1st week I used it which was disappointing but now that it’s broken in a little it functions flawlessly. I have a severe nerve disease that affects my hands. It’s made them have half the strength and I have only about 10% feeling left but I can still operate this knife with one hand. Which is saying something. It holds a nice edge after repeated use. It’s a beefy knife. There’s nothing dainty about it. It does ride extremely low in your pocket which can make it more difficult for someone in my condition to retrieve. On the other hand I’m not concerned about it falling out.Great knife!!!!

Sent it back
It was dull. Right, didn't feel right. It looks really cool.Second Off Grid knife. Loved the first one. So did the person who stole it. LolUPDATE:I was contacted by Off Grid Knives. These folks offered me another knife. I humbly accepted. The Caiman the knife I ordered was sold out. I was given the opportunity to select another.I chose the ENFORCER. Good choice. Rough looking it'll handle everyday jobs. These are AMAZING. Customer service was amazing. Thank you.

Not comfortable for my hand
With the big price drop to forty nine vs its original price of around eighty, I think it's a pretty good deal. It seems well made, has unique, aggressive-looking Caiman character, and the blade is relatively "thin behind the edge" (the thickness of the blade at the transition between the primary and secondary bevels). Another plus is the pocket clip is swappable to the left side. And the guard is so prominent that there's almost no chance your hand could slide forward on the handle. My main complaint is that I found the handle to be surprisingly uncomfortable when gripped hard. Specifically the handle digs into my middle finger when I grip the handle tightly. I compared it side-to-side against some other of my knives. The problem is going to be dependent on hand size, so it may only affect a few people. I'd like to see more a chamfer on the edges to made the handles less blocky. One can, of course, round the edge of the handles oneself with sandpaper or a file.Another minus: The detent is quite strong, but surprisingly the blade deploys "lazily". This is because the flipper tab is positioned to the rear of the pivot, so not much velocity is imparted to the blade when it is flipped. So you might occasionally have failed deployments of the blade.I do like the overall profile of the knife. I'd love to see a major re-design of the Caiman with an Axis-style lock, 14C28N blade steel, and slightly more contoured handles.

Very nice!
Sweet little big knife. I wanted a folding Bowie and this caiman delivered! Very nice flipper action. Very nice for fidgeting. Sooooo sharp right out of the box. Handle is very comfortable and the texture is great. It’s d2 steel and a great deal for the quality.

Bang for your buck
This is my first off grid knife and I’m really impressed at the quality for the price, the fit and finish is nicer than more expensive knives I’ve owned. The blade sits right in the middle of the frame, no blade play and the liner lock seems sturdy. On top of the quality, the flip is satisfying, the scales are grippy, the whole thing is perfect and I’m probably going to get a couple more.

Well made, very sharp, and perfectly sized for EDC
The media could not be loaded. Love the Bowie style blade. Weight is perfect for a larger style edc. Doesn’t weigh down the pocket. Extremely well built. Perfectly centered and razor sharp out of the box. Don’t even hesitate, get one now and enjoy.

If you use it, keep it sharp before you feel it dull.
The media could not be loaded. My regular carry for about 6 months. It's been used in landscaping, cut boxes....a little of everything, all the time. It's performed very well. What I like is, it's stayed tight. No wiggle. With basic maintenance it performs great.Like all folders, you have to clean the grit out..... you have to sharpen it.This is d2 steel. A very hard steel. This means it takes longer to dull, but longer to sharpen. Don't wait until it's dull to sharpen it.Mine works great with a bit of Arkansas stone and then a bit of strop. This isn't a toy. It's not going to slip out of your hand and it's very, very quick to open.I wish that Off Grid had a true Bowie version with the hand cutter (top crescent sharpened)Would be great pocket fighter.
