This adapter is for owners that does not want or does not have an Automatic Pool Cleaner. It connect to the vacuum port using a T-joint and a cap, so it will use your port and to use another equipment you need to disconnect the T-joint and connect other device. If you are talking about your automatic pool cleaner, then you do not need this adapter, SkimmerMotion comes with the T-joint that connect to your existing vacuum cleaner and both an run at the same time. Q: Does this work on Intex above ground pools?

I am not 100% sure. Does the pool have an intake you could attach the hose too? I have an in ground, but do not attach it to my sweeper, but to the wall intake where the sweeper attaches. So I would think if you have a standard intake you could attach it the same way. Now if you only have a skimmer intake, then it probably wouldn't work.
