Wonderful addition ; makes tablet easier and more pleasant to use for messages, apps...
The pros: You can put the tablet in the case with the front camera up if you won't be using the rear camera though it is designed to have the front camera at the bottom. (If you plan to use both cameras, you need to turn the case around so the front camera is on top.) The keyboard is easy to use/get used to. Love that it is a lit keyboard with an array of led colors to choose from and alternate. You can use the keyboard with other devices too; IOS and Microsoft Windows. The magnetic connection to the case is adjustable and reliable. The 3 intentional options for the angle of the tablet when in use are well placed.Cons: You might not be able to use the physical keyboard for some passwords depending on the level of security for the given app. (Guessing because it is a blue-tooth keyboard.) Easy enough work-around: just use the touchscreen keyboard to type in passwords that are reported incorrect or wrong credentials. [I experienced this when trying to access Blink, google drive and Microsoft account/one drive. At least there is the work-around of using the built-in screen keyboard. Also, the keyboard uses micro-usb, not C that the tablet uses. Not a big deal but I prefer C which you can't get wrong plugging in. [For convenience, you can use a C cable with a tiny adapter to micro usb if you want to minimize cables you need.] So far, battery life for the keyboard seems good. The case seems to be good quality for longevity.Tips: Remember, if you have trouble with correct passwords being rejected, try entering them with the screen-based keyboard (as stated above.)Copy the little instruction guide to your phone or the tablet. It is a bit hard to understand and easy to misplace!Suggestions: re-design the case so the front facing camera default position is at the top of the screen.Offer some other colors and patterns for the case and keyboard for those who like lots of options. Make the instructions for the keyboard a bit simpler to understand.

I'm writing this on my Kindle Fire with the keyboard
My keyboard/case arrived today, and I've messed around with it for a couple of hours. I am a college student, so a great deal of what I do is reading, writing, and studying. I purchased my kindle fire 8 with the intention of having another device that I could use as a second monitor for my laptop (and that has worked great so far, but this isn't a review of the device. I felt that it would be a nice bonus if I could use my kindle to take notes in class--its small form factor makes it an ideal candidate. Well, the keyboard came and I'm quite enjoying it. It's very tiny (obviously), so be aware of that. This isn't what you want to write your PHD dissertation on. But if you intent to do some light writing, answering emails, or taking notes, I think this could be a good choice for someone on a low budget. And, as keyboards go, this one seems great. The layout is fairly intuitive (only a few oddities, but I think that's because of its size). The various colors for the backlighting are fun. The bluetooth connection is working great--as far as I can tell, the only friction on that front is the kindle's fault. The keyboard has a satisfying but not overbearing tappy sound when you type. It seems pretty durable, and I don't think I'll have any problems carrying the kindle around with the keyboard attached. Lastly, to answer a question I had before I bought it, the keyboard does indeed detach from the actual case. So if you want to pull off the keyboard but keep the case on the kindle, you can. And the case itself is pretty nice--it's a little heavier than I was expecting though, so keep that in mind.Writing this review took me a little longer than it would have on my laptop, but I expect that's because I don't have sufficient muscle memory yet. I'm already starting to get the hang of it. I'll give an update to this review after I've been able to really use this keyboard. Hope this helps!

Nice!
Very nice tablet. I use mine mainly for music set ups to play ukulele.

Very difficult to use, almost impossible
This keyboard is extremely difficult to use, especially if you are used to a regular QWERTY keyboard. Some of the keys are in the wrong place, some characters are even missing entirely, some regularly used characters necessitate holding down the Fn key to type. I don’t recall which one exactly but it something as simple as the period. The size is what you’d expect of it. It’s small and if you are not ready to change your typing style then I would steer clear of this particular keyboard. I’ve used many mini keyboards before and knowing you have to keep your fingers tucked just helps in the learning curve. The kindle snaps in the cover and, much like a lot of other kindle holders, the camera is upsize down when it is in clipped in.I would not recommend this keyboard/cover to anyone.I returned it and, instead, bought a folding keyboard which is much easier to use.The only good thing I can say about this item is that it connected to bluetooth as expected from any bluetooth accessory.

Make my Fire HD 8 much more usable!
Are there drawbacks? As with any smaller keyboard, there are certain keys you’ll have to get used to using the FN key for. But compared to typing anything using the onscreen keyboard, this allows me to use my Fire tablet much more efficiently and even get some writing done in Google Docs…once you go through a few steps to upload the Google Play store. It has allowed this to become an actual functional budget tablet instead of just using it for entertainment consumption.

Needs different cable
Seems good, except cable between fire tablet and keyboard isn't compatible. (Needs cable with two small ends. Will try to locate one locally before returning.)
