Can this plug handle more amps than a deans ultra plug?

Yes it can. I use these xt90 plugs on all my rcs including my 8s xmaxx and they work great.

Do these include the end caps or do you have to use the heat shrink?

They come with the end caps shown in picture

Are they water proof?.

If you se marine grade shrink wrap and tape it will help keep water out. But "waterproof" nothing is water proof.

what does 1000 times? can I just use this for connecting speaker wire? it's just a connector but just wondering if there is anything funky

I sopse you could if you want a connector in line , the xt 90's are a large plug for current carrying capacity. The xt 60's would probly be good to , it depends on the wire size you need to solder in.
