Once I discovered my long run of string lights needed a cable set up I started my search. I’m not really sure why I chose this one but it really is a nice little kit. It gives lots of mounting options and all components seem well made. I remember thinking it was a bit expensive for what it was, but I quickly realized that for what they give you it’s actually a bargain. If you need a cable set up for your string lights, search no more, just got this one.

This is a great hardware kit for hanging your string lights at a long distance. The hardware is stainless steel and solid. The wire feels solid and appropriately sized. The sheathing thickness on the cables is a good quality. Planning your runs and confirming your hardware usage prior to starting will allow you to be prepared for your job. More than likely you will need more cable ties if you are running more than two sets of 48’ long string lights. This kit also includes twist ties but I opted to get more cable ties locally. The turnbuckles allow you to tighten or loosen the cables if they stretch or you make the cables a little too long. I had no difficulty installing the cable run other than getting up and down the ladder. A second set of hands would help but is not required. Id recommend this set to support your strong lights.

They work great. I used them for lights in my back yard in two different spots. I attached them to an exposed header under my covered balcony, a couple Redwood Trees, a facia board and a fence post. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I would’ve liked the kit to have one or two more “red head” style anchors and some longer/more sturdy screws. I ended up using some bigger screws that I already had instead. Other than that, the install was straight forward and easy.

This kit does have 90% of what you'll need to string 2-48' patio light sets. I was a bit worried about the cable strength, as it's only 1/16" not including the plastic covering) but so far seems OK. The nut driver wrench they include was a nice touch, much easier than trying to tighten with pliers. The weak link is the turnbuckles. It would be nice if there were 4, rather than 3, and the quality of these is not so good. Careful as you tighten the cable, because this is where the cable system would fail. But for the money, its pretty good and I would buy again
