Q: What is the size of the ladder that it comes with? Trying to figure out if we need to purchase the ladder extension?

There’s no specific rack for the tent. Find one that meets your needs and fits your van. Plan ahead and think about what else you would use the rack for.

Like everyone mentioned, it is all about the weight. Dynamic weight is around 150lbs plus whatever you leave in it. That is what is required to drive it around. Most roof racks can handle that. Then it’s the static weight. Big tent allows for more people and stuff. I have a Jeep Wrangler with a Gobi Rack that is capable of 300# dynamic and 800# static. I also put it on my F250 which has a ladder rack.
