A bit dumpy but nice and lightweight
There is some good and bad with these. First the good: - they're very light and comfortable. My wife and I will be traveling, so I've been experimenting with washing these by hand, wringing them out and hanging them in the closet to dry. They easily dry overnight. So, not only are these much lighter in the suitcase, but I can easily wash these in the hotel room as needed. - nylon material is very strong, so even though they're very lightweight, they seem pretty strong. - plenty of pockets to store thingsI'm 5'10 and 175 lbs. That's about 33" waist. The medium size fits perfectly and they'd easily stretch to 35". I don't need a belt with these when I just have wallet, car key and iphone in the pockets. The not so good: - yes, the front pockets are WAY too long. You have to lift the leg or bend over to get your hand to the bottom of the pocket. And, they're wide enough that phones turn sideways. Both of these problems are really annoying. So, I got out a needle and thread and sewed a vertical seam dividing each front pocket in half (I used the width of my phone as a guide). Now, the phone goes in the outside half of the pocket. So, the phone can't fall sideways, and I don't have to reach so deep to get to the phone. The way the pockets stack, the seams that I added don't show on the face of the shorts. I'm a guy, so I'm sure I butchered the proper sewing technique, but it was easy to do. I made the seam about 2/3 the height of the phone so that I could easily grab onto the phone when I reached in my pocket. - the other bad is that these shorts are a bit dumpy looking. They have too much "leg room"... too wide in the leg. I first bought Bimini's Boca Grande... the only thing "grande" was the even more dumpy look of those shorts... I was swimming in 34s and even 32s were dumpy looking (but fit better at the waist). These shorts are less dumpy than the Boca Grande.

Roomy Pockets
I like the shorter length in a cargo short, which is not always easy to find. Most men's shorts are in the +10 inch inseam; might as well wear pants. The pockets are deep and can hold a lot of stuff, but since the material is thin nylon and the pockets so roomy, the items will "slosh" around against your legs as you walk, hike, etc. I have quite a few Bimini Bay cargo shorts now of the different varieties, and they seem to be well-made and will provide good service.

Buy Bimini Bay!
Very pleased! My husband really likes the Bimini Bay shorts and other clothing, great fit and great quality. We usually buy them at a souvenir store when on vacation in Orange Beach, Alabama. This year the store said they had Bimini Bay shirts, but no shorts. So we ordered them on Amazon through Bimini Bay Outfitters the week after vacation. He bought three different styles and really likes them all! Thank you Bimini Bay Outfitters and Amazon!

Comfort, rugged construction and fair price - A great value
These are great shorts for casual wear. Lightweight, but very strong and very well made. My favorite feature is the reinforced button. It seems like every pair of shorts I have I have to re-sew the button either out of the box or within a few wearings. The button on these shorts is held in place by a band of material that is secured in place with high strength stitching.

Just what I was looking for
No cotton here! I wanted moisture-wicking and quick drying shorts that looked good. These fill the bill. I bought two pair, washed them both once and worn them both once. I wore them outside on a hot, humid day and they continued to look nice. I still got sweaty, but they didn't show the sweat and they did dry out quickly when I got out of the heat. You could wear them right out of the dryer or give them a light ironing if your picky. Sized in American sizes, they are pretty true to expectations.

Great Shorts
These shorts were purchased as a gift for my husband. They fit well, were cooler in the TX heat, light weight, dry fast, and they are attractive. I ordered another pair in a different color and he was alternating between the two pair. Bottom line is that I just ordered a third color for Father's Day. The 3 colors allow for some versatility. They lauder easily and take up very little room for summer travel later on. These shorts are a winner.

Very nice alternative to drawstring clothing for guys with expanded waists.
These shorts were exactly what I'd hoped they be: shorts with a comfortable waistband ( I have a gut) that weren't going to slip down to your knees while walking. A nice alternative to sweatpants and sweat shorts, the last bastion of the slim-waist challenged. They look good as well. I purchased as size 3x, and they fit me as I hoped they would. Inexpensive, too. You can't go wrong buying these shorts. So buy em!. Joe

Be careful ordering the olive color
I was very disappointed in this pair of Bimini shorts. This is the 4th pair that I ordered for my son as I loved the other 3 pairs so much! They are great shorts! However, I ordered this olive colored pair, and when I washed them, a huge brown stripe ended up running across the bottom of them! I couldn’t return them as they’ve been washed and worn now.I don’t know what happened as the other 3 colors were fine. I’d be careful ordering the olive color as I don’t know what happened.
