Superb. This will suck fumes away upto a clear 25cm distance, which is amazing. It *is* noisy but that’s a price I will happily pay.Pedantic point: lead has a boiling point of 1749C. It will not enter the air when soldering. However the flux will, and it’s that which you don’t want to breathe.

Does the job.Glad this thing is heavy and built like a brick outhouse, otherwise it may have taken off with such a powerful fan.Very noisy, but not an unpleasant sound.Soldering work still needs to be relatively close to the fan, but for the price point and the small foot print (my work space is limited) and fo my purposes it’s good enough.I did see some other solutions which enable you to place a funnel nearer and more targeted to the soldering work, but these were very expensive and a very bulky by comparison (not enough room in my work space).

Using the extractor for pyrography. Small, compact, portable, sturdy. Sits on the desk right next to where I am burning. Clears the smoke; I can no longer smell any fumes. Certainly notice when I have forgotten to switch it on. It came with spare filters. A bit noisy but I can still hear a radio, doorbell, etc. Casing became a bit warm after more than 1h of continuous use. Good cable length. Switch incorporated on cable.Thought it was expensive but considered it was worth buying as it can always double up as a spare backup extractor for my stained glass soldering if the industrial sized extractor in the garage ever stops working. So far I am really pleased I bought it. A nice piece of H&S kit.

You can see the vapour from soldering vanish into this unit, so you know it is not going into your lungs. The only snag is that some replacement filters are smaller than the ones in this unit, so be careful in ordering them to select the right size: measure the two spare filters that come with the unit. I chose this because it looked more solid than others, and it is: heavy and strong and clunky... will not tip over.

I bought this former our nail tech in the salon .Neighbors above commented on the smell coming up into their flat.this works perfect and take the dust in too .It’s amazing how good it works

This is a sturdy little item that is easy to manoeuvre around my stained glass work. However a carbon filter will not absorb lead or flux fumes so these are just moved about 3 inches away so you would still breath them in. I have successfully attached a 150mm extraction hose to it which I can hang out of the window which sorts it out.

Great product and can't express how good it is.I am a serious hobbyist and using this every day.It pulls smoke from 6 inches away no problem.Nice heavy construction, so very stable on bench.If Supplier is reading this, here are potential Design Improvements:1 More flexible cable2 Integrated switch on case3 Side baffles at rear to prevent airflow flowing from the rear and around to the front.4 Handy work lamp attachment to light up the work pieceI've used a lot of similar units in my career and they never work as well.Very pleased with this product.
