Yet another corker from Emma Cooper!
Blurb: Before Sophie met Samuel she saw the world in grey. Before Samuel met Sophie, he never believed in love at first sight. When they first meet, something tells them they are meant to be. But fate has other ideas. Now they have lost each other and can't see a way back. But they've already changed each other's lives in more ways than they ever expected... From the author of ‘ The Songs of Us’ comes a love story that will 'break your heart, but put it back together again' (Katie Fforde). Fans of Jojo Moyes will love this.•My thoughts? Well, I’m a huge fan of this author having read and adored ‘The Songs of Us.’ I’m not a voracious reader of love stories - I often find them tame, cheesy and predictable. However, every now and then I will pick one up (as I did with The Songs of Us, and this one) and snuggle up with a blanket and a box of chocolates. Sometime it’s just what I need, and I know Emma Cooper’s books will never be tame, cheesy or predictable! They will make you laugh out loud but they’ll also punch you in the gut, and just when you think you’ve recovered and you start smiling again, they’ll rip your heart out of your chest, throw it on the floor and stamp on it. Then they’ll kiss you better and make you feel all fluffy and warm again. Emotional rollercoaster? Yes! In a good way of course!•So, this book. I immediately fell in love with the characters - Emma Cooper must have some sort of secret superpower, in the way she creates her characters. Never before have I immediately connected and fallen in love with characters in the way I do with hers. They are raw, real, funny, vulnerable, perfectly imperfect - I’m actually going to miss them (especially the Irish in-laws). The storyline is entirely unique and packed with twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages as you laugh out loud and grab the Kleenex simultaneously, desperately trying to guess what will happen in the end. It’s so beautifully written, so believable, so warm, so nerve jangling, so heartbreaking, so clever. I implore you to read it.•Emma Cooper, congratulations on writing another incredible book, and I can’t wait for your next one to come out!
