A well-designed product that works as advertised
I needed a battery-operated light to occasionally illuminate the area under our deck. I've used Mr. Beams motion detector lights for indoor applications and have been satisfied with operation, battery life and quality of illumination, so I decided to try this one for my application. Fully satisfied with the unit. Very well designed for installation and positioning, lighting is sufficiently bright for the area, motion detection works very well, and cost is also reasonable. So far no issues with weather resistance, and the design appears to be good for outdoor use.

These are awesome!
I’ve owned a few sets of these over the years, and they’re amazing. I have a few indoors at my warehouse in unlit closets and 2 outside on an area I’m too lazy to run power to. I recently added two to the inside of a shed in my back yard. The batteries seem to last about 4 years (yes, I’ve had some longer than that) and I did have to replace one of the outdoor units after ~3 years. I live in Michigan and it gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter, we get it all. These are cheap, durable, bright, and easy to mount. I included pictures of the difference they make in my home shed. All pictures are with the door(s) open.

Bright but motion sensor is inconsistent
I rent and didn't want to deal with fixing the lights the house comes with, so I purchased these after reading reviews. They don't come with batteries, so make sure to buy them. The lights are bright when they initially turn on but then dim. They don't stay on that long, also the sensor is inconsistent. We have a lot of wildlife that go through our backyard, so I expected this to go off more often so either it's not turning on or we haven't had much traffic. Overall, good price, easy to set-up.

Does the job well
We needed to improve lighting at the back of the house where there is no electricity. This battery operated motion sensor light does the job well. It comes on about 15 ft from the sensor and stays on for 20 seconds after you leave its angle of detection. My only issue is that the opening to the battery compartment is very stiff and tight and hard to open, no doubt to maintain weather tightness. Installing the light to the wall required a drill and screw driver. Adjusting the angle of the light and sensor is easy.

Great for a through-the-woods trail!
Have 8 of these to illuminate a trail through the woods. Batteries cost $$, and we'll se how long they last, but hope they cover at least two seasons! Brilliance? Great - they illuminate well!. Motion sensitivity? Great! They pick up anything in their path. I had to move positions once or twice to get timing just right between trees, but now have a fully timed, illuminated trail from house to barn, and back, through a wooded trail! If you're mounting on a tree/ living growth, I would recommend mounting the light fixture to board or suitable platform, and then screwing the board to the tree. One cannot imagine how quickly a tree can increase in girth over a year or two, and that growth will easily pull any screws through the housing of your light fixture - breaking the plastic. However, if the board fractures, just replace it and remount for light. They look robust and should last as long as you replace the batteries! Some have mentioned water incursion to the insides, but the gaskets included seem good. If any concerns, add a thin film of silicone RTV to the threads before placing the head back on the housing. May make it a bit more difficult to unscrew, but RTV breaks relatively easy next time you need to change batteries.

More than I expected
Easy installation, works great, motion sensing works great. Anxoius to see how long the batteries last.

Excellent lights
We set up this pair of lights so we could see the dogs at night, when letting them out into the yard. They are sensitive enough to detect the motion of small chihuahuas (5lbs) even when set up on the deck railing. They are quite bright and have, thus far, endured heavy rain, high winds, and snow, without fail. The only drawback is that, once you move slightly out of the sensor's range, the light doesn't stay on quite long enough.

Broke on install but works great
This light seems cheaply made as it broke when I was installing it. The piece that broke was the handle that you can screw/unscrew to shift the positioning that the light points in. Since it broke, the light would just lay flat and not point at the ground. I was able to remove the broken screw from the handle and put a new screw directly into the plastic mount to hold the light in the position I needed. It works fine now that I tightened it down but doesn't give me the ability to change it's positioning anymore. That shouldn't be a problem since it's mounted and I don't plan on moving it. Once installed, the motion sensor works great from about 20' and the light isn't super bright which is exactly what I was looking for as I didn't want to get blinded when approaching my front door.

Great bright light for the price
This is the second one of these we have purchased now and put up in our backyard. For the price it can't be beat. It takes 3 huge D batteries which is a pain however the first one we bought has been up for almost 2 years now and the batteries are still going strong so I have no issues with the batteries now. They have both now been out in very cold Calgary winters where temps have been down in the -30's and they have not failed. Super product.

Fantastic product
Honestly works perfectly. Bright, fast and easy to setup. No need to leave the porch light on for when my son comes home anymore because this comes on automatically and is equally as bright. The sensor is spot on!

It is a good security light
I have been testing this security light for a few weeks now. The reason why I like this product is because it works off batteries, which is exactly what I needed. It is very bright and easy to install. I have read about Mr Beams and they have a loyal following here is Australia (at least that is my takeaway). I think that the motion sensor is a tiny bit less sensitive than on some of my other lights, but it could also be my fault (i.e. placing is slightly awkward). Anyway, it's a good product, well-proced. I recommend.
