Works fine with my AMD 480, you just need to make sure your PSU has enough wattage to power it.Which you shoudlve memorized by now.ex: You cant power a AMD 480 on a 450 watt PSU effectivley under gaming loads despite it being hooked up via this 6 to 8pin connector.This wouldnt be the connectors fault, its the fault in the lack of your PSU power.

Works well enough.
It's functional, but it's ugly as sin. I'd have been much happier if it had either had monochrome wiring or had been sheathed. I bought it knowing what it looked like, but no amount of pre-knowledge raised what is a fairly mundane adapter cable from a "functional" rating to anything resembling "exceptional".

Backup plan
Thought I was going to need it for the radion nitro rx 480 I ordered, but found out I didn't. But having a backup plan is always a good idea. I felt kind of silly that my system had an additional 8 pin power supply, since I built the system myself.

Connected a 6pin PSU output to an Rx 480 8pin input. Neither the PSU nor the Rx 480 burst into flames.

It worked, what else can I say? I mean, I guess that's a compliment considering that half the stuff you buy today doesn't fit or work right. I bought 2 from 2 different companies to hedge that bet and this one worked.

Not for Mac Pro 6 to 8 pin video cards!!
Other than the fact it took over a week to ship ( plus shipping time), the product is fine. Unfortunately for me, I mistook the size of the six pin end, which was too large for the connector on my Mac Pro logic board. Thankfully I was able to scrounge a mini-6 to 6 cable of the correct genders in order to use this cable as an adapter. Still need to order the correct size to eliminate all the needless length and bulk interfering with airflow.
