Not sure but they have some weight to them. They are solid.

A little over 2oz each, but are very solid and heavy. Don't see these breaking anytime soon as they are not fragile.

Hi, each of the Round Clew is 60g, each White Bird is 110g. :-)

Q: Could they be used to hold a throw on back of sofa in place?

To hold the throw on the sofa for appearances, I would say yes. To have several people sitting on it, I am not sure. I actually used these to lay a blanket on the back seat of my car. They did stay in place with my large dog on it. In the past before these, the blanket came up and I was afraid my dog would accidentally scratch the leather on the seat. I now keep these in the car for him. BTW, I had ordered two sets of these as I was going to use them outside (that didn't work out, as we have too much wind). I did use both sets in the car.
