Rugged, good fit.
This handle has proven to be much better than the Seymour handle that only lasted a couple of weeks. Fitting this handle to my maul was a lot easier than the Seymour handle since I did not have to remove so much material. I have split several cords of wood that took a lot of wedge use and it is holding up fine.

Poor quality.
Waited to long for product delivery. Paid to much for product. Product is what I would call a second: The surface of the handle that inserts into the maul head has milling marks like 5 shallow rings. The grain of the wood is horizontal to the direction of the handle blow increasing the chances that the handle will fracture. The term ( Contractor Grade ) is not defined. No defects were described. Until this vendor clearly defines the product they are selling I am going to make my purchases else where. Presently I am waiting for a refund.

Nothing wrong with this product that I can see but ...
Nothing wrong with this product that I can see but the description needs to be more precise. I ended up getting the wrong handle because of lack of info. Return process worked well and credit was received.

So so product
Product was described as being a replacement for a maul. My mail has a teardrop hole in the head. This handle has an oval shape to the end of the shaft. And the oval when worked to a teardrop shape will not fully fill the opening in the head. It'll work after some effort but it is not a direct replacement. Handle shaft is also raw wood and would perform better (more comfortable) if sealed.

Handle cracked while splitting wood
Next maul handle will be fiberglass... Although I enjoyed the head fitting process, it did take a couple hours sanding and filing. Split a few dozen logs before my first miss hit the shaft and cracked it. Not sure if its poor quality handle or bad luck. Swing and miss is not an unexpected scenario.
