Bernard Cornwell the Last Kingdom Series Books 7-12

Addicted to these books. My husband bought me the set of twelve. I'm on book four. Love them.

really good read

A lot of people are unaware of the Netflix series “The Last Kingdom” being based on these books. I can’t say enough good things about this author. Bernard Cornwell is a genius, and is able to implement historical facts and knowledge intertwining with amazing fictional stories, creating characters you fall in love with. If you like these books I also recommend his “Warlord Chronicles” which includes the Winter King, Enemy of God, and Excalibur. If you don’t have time to read it, get it on Audible. Jonathan Keeble does a great job narrating. He also narrates at least three or four of the Last Kingdom books (I wish he narrated them all) and all I can say is 10/10 recommend.

Interst in subject matter

I have been a fan of Cornwall for years. Great books brilliantly written. They are different from the TV series which changed quite a bit. I think these are better. So much humour and the characters are fascinating. He really seems to give an idea of what life and death was like in Britain during that historical period. Amazing battles, feels like you are there!
