ZOOZ800 Series Z-Wave Long Range Scene Controller ZEN32 800LR, White | Z-Wave Hub Required

I’ve come to really appreciate the quality of Zooz products, and the Zen32 is no exception. I have three of them, and aside from controlling the main relay, I use them to control and monitor remote devices like my swimming pool pump and heater, outside lights, and more.It integrates seamlessly with Home Assistant and there is a Blueprint available that makes it easy to set up and use. The ability to monitor the status of devices is a huge plus, and everything has been reliable so far.Highly recommend Zooz for home automation needs. They deliver consistent quality, and the Zen32 is an excellent addition to my setup. Five stars!

Works great with Homey in the US (Homey is a European-based smart home automation system that is now released in the US). We have several different Zooz switches, including this scene controller. The Homey app for Zooz works perfectly with all of them, allowing for advanced multi-function triggers and whatnot so that different scene buttons can activate other non-Zooz devices via the automation controller.Zooz works perfectly for us with Homey, the prices are reasonable (and we don't like wifi switches because of the vampire power draw). We will buy again for our next project.

Worked perfectly

At first glance this looks like a very useful device that has 1 main button to control a local load plus 4 small buttons wich can be used to set scenes or act as virtual 3-way switches when associated with other Z-Wave load switches. I thought these would be the perfect way to update my 15 year old Insteon keypads and start migrating to Z-Wave.The first weakness of this device shows up as soon as you include it into your Z-Wave network and find that no child devices get created for the small scene buttons. Instead the small buttons just modify the scene value in the central scene device. This means you can't just refer to the individual button status in rules or events within your automation controller but instead have to jump through hoops to detect central scene value changes and associate them back to the buttons. Why in the world make such a nice piece of hardware and then cripple it this way by not creating simple child devices so it can be straight forward to actually use it?You can do Z-Wave direct associations between the small buttons and another switch to establish a virtual 3-way switch configuration but there is no way to do a reverse association from the switch back to the button! This means the button and switch can get out of sync and you may have to push the button multiple times to get it to operate properly. Zooz support has suggested some ways around this by using several rules in your controller to process the central scene commands and keep the button LEDs in sync, but why in the world should that be neccessary? Just create child devices for the buttons and all that nonsense goes away.There is a use case for utilizing the small buttons strictly to set different scenes for a given set of lights and I'm sure the overly complicated central scene approach would be OK for that. I don't know how useful that narrow use case will be to most folks though. I have installed several hundred smart switches over the years and can count on one hand how many times this sort of scene application has come up.I think Zooz should consider a firmware update to broaden the applications for the ZEN32 while also making it simpler to use. It just seems odd that a 15 year old Insteon keypad is more flexible in application, intuitive to use, and just plain easier to program than this latest and greatest Z-Wave device.Update 12/4/2021Adding a star because when used with Homeseer you can overcomes most of the concerns I have with this device. Too bad tech support is not as familiar with Homeseer as they are with some of the other Z-Wave platforms. If they provided better guidance for using their product with Homeseer they could paint this thing in a much better light.

Had four remotes to control ceiling fans, ceiling fan lights and ceiling lights on my covered patio.We were always searching for the remotes when going in for the night or letting the dogs out in the middle of the night. Programmed several Home Assistant "scenes" to each button. Now we can turn on/off everything with one button, turn on or off the ceiling fans with another button, control groups of lights with a choice of color for ambiance with another button. Response time is sub second and have not lost connection since it has been installed several months ago. Recommend Z-Wave over WIFI switches to ensure reliable connectivity. Installation and integration with Home Assistant was relatively easy.My biggest challenge was deciding which combination of devices to assign to a switch button and the option (single press, multiple press, hold press, etc.) to use.Recommend this to any Home Assistant user.
