I installed this yesterday in my 2013 Toyota Tacoma. It was simple to install no different than just putting the plug back in. There was a little bit of oil left in the truck and I was able to get this plug-in while it was still draining, although a bit messy, it allowed me to test the valve. It worked perfectly and did not leak. I bought the shorter version so that I didn’t have to worry about clearance and it does not look like it will be an issue. It barely hangs down much further than the original pan plug. On the next oil change I will be attaching a hose to see if that helps control any dripping mess. Overall couldn’t be happier I no longer need a wrench.

Looks well made and was easy to install. I already used it once because of accidentally overfilling my engine and it was mess free and very easy to use.One complaint I do have is that the instruction say to tighten and extra 1/4 of a turn beyond hand tight but this was very loose and I had to tighten it a good deal more to stop it from weeping.Edit one year later: Has worked great through multiple oil changes with no leaking and opens and closes like the day I put it in.

It's a brilliant idea, and a great product that eliminates the mess with oil changes. Avoids messing with the oil pan bolt, where if you are clumsy like me, drop it into the oil waste container, or get burned by the hot oil coming out. My only reservation is the price which seems overly high. Still, it's worth it over the long run if you change your own oil. easy to install, Great to use.

Only works if you have a day to drain your oil as it makes the drain hole too small.
