Q: How do you adjust the alarm volume to lower than 8? I am a light sleeper and the lowest volume I can get it to go is L08 which is too loud for me.

Mine wouldn't go below level 8 either. Makes the alarm function useless - it is blaring loud at that level.

Hi customer, this alarm clock is outlet powered and can be backup with 3*AAA batteries to keep time/settings during a power outage. Note: batteries drains fast(just lasting 10 hours) if battery operated only! please keep plugging in.
