Q: what is the weight capacity

my gates have metal pannels on wood they weigh45 lbs

As wide as you want really. I used it for my My side gate which was 46 inches.

Q: Can this gate be constructred so its "pool complant".. ie 4ft high and a self closing latch attached?

I don’t see why not. You determine the size and supply the correct latches. Theyre not perfectly square angles, just trim the edges of wood you use with a wood chisel to allow a better fit into these angles .

Q: Will this work on a gate that is 96"?

I don't know, but it seems to work well on mine 72" so I think so.
