Blocks my toddler from certain areas however the adhesion is not the best. I locked myself in a room accidentally and was only able to get out because the lock wasn't completely secured and came off the door after I pulled down hard in an attempt to get out of the room.

Make sure the product sticks and you’ll be good to go. It’s the only thing that’s kept my monster from leaving his room every minute during nap time

I only got half the product. The top lever thing that keeps the handle from going up is another piece and I only got two out of the four.

Total waste of money! I tried to open my door like my toddler normally would. It fell of the first time! Will not be buying ever again.

We've been using very similar locks for almost 2 years. We needed more so we picked these up and were pleased to find that they are basically carbon copies and should work as well as our previous ones.We prefer to mount them "upside down". This let's us leave them unlocked "all" of the time. Adults open a door by lifting the handle up. Children aren't able to open the door by pulling down and are hopefully mature enough to know better once they are tall enough to push it up.We haven't had to take any of ours off, but I looked up the 3M VHB adhesive and was (unpleasantly) surprised to find out that it was advertised "to permanently adhere one substrate to another".

Soooo, they’re probably better off used inside the door. Especially if you have lever knobs where Botha sides go down. Literally locked myself in a room. when I went to remove the lock the adhesive was so good it ripped the paint off my door. Very strong and does it’s job, but uh…. Consider placement of this thing very carefully

These things work great, was up and keeping my kid from getting into the pantry in seconds, my only complaint is that to unlock these things you have to press both sides/buttons at the same time, that’s not easy if you holding a toddler in one arm because you gotta use both hands to open it unless your hand is super flexible. Overall it’s a great product and definitely holds the weight of a 30 pound toddler hanging on it wanting another snack while dinner is cooking.
