Brilliantly Practical Job Hunting Handbook For Foreigners New To America
At a time when job hunting practices seem to morph and evolve at internet speed, imagine how difficult it must be for a talented person from another country to successfully navigate the U.S. job market and successfully land on their feet. This extremely cutting edge, friendly and practical handbook, fresh off the press, richly populated with timely and relevant case studies, captures and shares the expertise, deep knowledge, insights , experiences and proven best practices from the author's incredible track record in creating and leading an organization whose purpose is to successfully mainstream workers from around the world into the extremely tough, nearly moribund, post industrial, midwestern St. Louis economy. Chances are, any job hunting trade craft which works in the "show me" state will work anywhere in the country. But this book, eight years in the making, is more than a manual for the new immigrant chasing success in America. It and this author and the St. Louis Mosaic program she developed should serve as a lighthouse for national and regional policy makers who wish to benefit from the expertise and insights of the author, apparently a Wellesley and Harvard Business School graduate who enjoyed a successful and prestigious career as a marketing executive before embracing this challenge eight years ago, and "cracking the case."

The best gift you can give your mentee, a must read for international students or job seekers
As per Statista, in any given year, there are about a million international students in the United States and most of them aspire to stay back to build a career here. For all of those students who hope to convert the aspiration into reality, this highly informative book by Betsy Cohen is a must-read. Betsy does a great job with her example-driven approach to make the read supremely easy and tremendously effective. The depth and variety of examples narrated in the book make it abundantly clear that the author has had several years of experience helping immigrants and internationals successfully land jobs. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and I am looking forward to sharing this tool kit with many folks that are either seeking a career shift or looking for a job right out of school.

Very informative !!
This book is very informative and yes definitely would give you case senarios of what non born Americans migrating to the US would ve face with. There is alot of competition but most of all alot of issues is the US as well as race. These are very complicated issues andother things. What i this there should be is a diectory of state jobs and federal job non -Americans can apply for immediately if they meet those requirements. Sometimes migrants dont know what jobs are federal and state jobs and its a hassle trying to figure out which is which. But this is a good book for starters.

A clear, comprehensive and accessible guide to job hunting
Job-hunting advice may be ubiquitous, but it's rarely focused on the unique challenges of foreign-born job seekers. As someone who mentors many young people in this situation, I found Betsy Cohen's excellent guide to be a welcome exception. Straight forward and well-organized into different stages, the book includes brief case studies that bring to life the diverse experiences of foreign-born workers from many countries and professions. I also appreciated the "Why This Works" sections, the chapter summaries, and the pages at the end of each stage that invite readers to jot down their own notes and next steps. Encouraging, yet realistic, this book motivates its readers to learn--and act!

Modern and Practical
By far the clearest and most current guide on how to help foreign born friends and families find employment. It is full of practical advice and savvy tips that most international people would otherwise have to spend a lot of time to figure out.

Useful tool
I saw it in the author's LINKEDIN profile since she's a connection. It is written in a very simple but descriptive and detailed manner, since its target is people who were not born Stateside and looking for jobs in there. Examples of succesful cases are presented to showcase what has to be done, it is interesting because all stories are from people of different nationalities and backgrounds. The author also gives tips on how to prepare a resumé and how to network according to the American way of doing things.
