Great phone & excellent customer service
Purchased this phone for my elderly father who lives in assisted living period. He has hearing, speech, grip, and mobility issues that affect his ability to use a telephone without assistance. The handset has a grip pad on it which makes it easy for him to hold the handset when using the phone. It also has a speaker phone for a hands free option and this is particularly helpful for conference calls. There are 3 memory buttons you can set up to program 3 different numbers for one button push dial. This makes it really easy for my dad to call us if he needs anything in case he forgets our number. When we received the phone we followed the instructions and registered it. When we went to set up the phone we made a mistake without knowing it and plugged the handset into the outjack on the back of the phone. For some reason we completely missed the handset Jack on the side of the phone. Needless to say we didn't get the phone to work and we were very frustrated. The next day I had resigned myself to purchase a different phone when customer service from Terry phone reached out to me via text to ask me how it went with. The installation of the phone. I told them that we couldn't get the phone to work and I thought it was defective. They responded with some troubleshooting things to try to see if we could get the phone to work. I was certain I had done everything right? The first time and was reluctant to try but I did anyway. Needless to say when I Followed the customer service reps (THANK YOU, MARY!) suggestions that's when I discovered the jack for the handset on the side of the phone. I was embarrassed about being such a dimwit. But I was extremely happy that the phone was now working and I didn't have to get a new one after all. My dad absolutely loves the phone it's easy for him to use. I would recommend this phone for anyone.

An Excellent Phone with GREAT Customer Support
Acenis' large button phone is idea for my dad. He ha macular degeneration and these big numbers are just perfect for him. The black numbers on a white background are easy to see and there's very little chance of fat-fingering numbers when dialing out. There are also three memory-dial keys at the top for frequently dialed numbers that can be labeled with pictures for ease of recognition. There's also a soft grip on the phone for a more secure hold. The first phone we received could only receive calls and wouldn't dial out. We tried the trouble-shooting options and none of them worked, so I contacted Acenis' customer service group. They confirmed we tried the various trouble shooting options and offered a few more things for us to try, which also didn't work. They apologized for the problems and sent us out a new phone that worked perfectly. There was no back-and-forth, no weeks of delay -- they were fast and remained in communication until we received the phone. If you have parents with vision issues and are looking for a landline phone that'll help them easily make calls -- you've found it. And the fact that the company stands behind the quality of their communication products makes this an easy choice.

Easy to use, but the speaker phone is poorly designed.
Wife got one, set it up with Cell2Jack, she likes the speed dial buttons. The ring is loud, and the flashing light is a nice extra. However, when she switches the phone over to speaker, it is no where near 80db it claims to be, we have the volume slider all the way up, perhaps the unit is defective. The speaker however is decently loud IF she removes the handset, the speaker design is located right below the handset, and they have a foam pad on the handset, so that muffles down the volume quite a bit.She uses the speaker phone part most of the time, so she had me tape down the 'receiver' button, and she just leaves the handset off the base. Not exactly ideal, but it works. She is on the hunt for one with more quick-dial buttons and a better speaker phone option. The handset IS decently loud when used normally.

Worthwhile purchase for senior user
Very good purchase for senior with dementia who could no longer use a cell phone. The handle is easy to grip, the preset numbers making reaching loved ones easy. The ringer is loud and has a red light that flashes. Occasionally, the line has had some static, but overall, very good. The phone line was long enough to reach the area we needed.

My mom can hear
I bought this phone for my mom in December. She’s so hard of hearing. She has hearing aids, but also a hand held helper so to speak, that she paid extra for, for her hearing as ids that way she she turn up and down depending on where she’s at! We tried a caption phone and there is so much static, the people that type the convo on the other end, was slow, so we turned the caption off. Last week, I ordered another one of these phones for her computer room and got rid of the cordless phones that was doing absolutely nothing. In fact, when I call came in and she answered it on the cordless phone she’s always say hold on. I can’t hear you and she would have to get up and go to the Terry phone or the static phone in the front room. She’s fed up with this one, but only kept it because of her being able to turn up. Since I replaced the cordless phone in the computer room, with this new Terryphone, she hasn’t had to get up and move to another room when a call comes in. She’s thrilled to pieces. Will be ordering 2 more to replace the others in the house! It also had 3 big buttons u top to store 3 of the easiest numbers she calls the most. Instructions very easy to set up too. I’d highly recommend getting this if u or anyone else is hard of hearing. I tell u, we’ve tried some other phones, but it was a no go, so we gave up. She had macular degeneration as well, and the big buttons a BIG fat plus!! I’d totally recommend anyone looking for a phone for the elderly or anyone that is hard of hearing!! Awesome phone for sure
