7-Day Programmable Digital Countdown Timer Switch with 3-Prong Plug and Outlet, Set of 2

I first wrote a very negative review of these timers, and returned them. I said they "didn't function out of the box. Wouldn't pass power through despite trying several programmed times and dates. Instructions are less-than-clear (turn on? what?) and there's only an email address for support."But the seller at that email address contacted me, and sent me replacement units to evaluate. They rewrote the instructions and included a PDF with the changes included. And following THOSE instructions the unit works great! And obviously I'm pleased with the customer support.The key was this: the unit has a manual and an auto mode; obviously one wants to use the auto mode for the timing function. Most will do what I did and set a time for "on" that includes the present time in order to test. But—oops—it turns out that when you do so, and then plug in the timer, there's a fail safe that prevents the power from passing through. It's designed in case one is working on an applicance that you didn't want "on" but messed up in setting say the AM "on" period to PM and suddenly BAM! your appliance fires up when you didn't expect it. So it waits until the next off and then on period to work properly. But be patient, and it will work then.

These timers have performed well. They are very versatile with such flexible & variable programming as well as the countdown feature. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is the directions are a bit difficult to understand. It takes a few readings to truly understand them. On the positive side the manufacturer sent, via e-mail, updated and clearer instructions. Overall, purchasing these timers has been a good experience.

Would be a nice little timer, if it kept time. Comes in a two pack and after vexing over why the one that I was using always seemed to turn on early, I ran a little test. I synchronized both timers to my watch and set them up side-by-side. One of the timers runs about four minutes per hour fast. That makes it useless as an automatic digital timer.

OK. So these are hit and miss. I bought a couple of these and some work ok and some don’t. They often freeze while programming then which is a real pain in the ass since you have to reset it and all the stuff you just programmed is gone. One of them doesn’t hold a charge, I.e. you want to program it in your hands, you remove from the outlet and it dies right away. I mean, an outlet is what 2.5 feet off the ground and often behind a couch or table etc. aka not easy to program. They’re are probably better products out there without these glitches

i ordered 2 of these. i dont know what the other reviewers are talking about when they say the instructions were confusing. they were pretty easy to me. i guess if you cant read or know how to follow directions, they would be hard. i give it 3 stars right now because out of 2 units i ordered i think one is defective. i set the clock on both at the exact same time, but the next day 1 of the timers is losing time. i set them both in the morning at 8am. the next day 1 of the timers is still correct while the other is off by a few hours. i really like this timer as it has multiple programs per day.m3 stars for now until the seller contacts me back and hopefully replaces the defective unit.

I bought a pair of these and one of them died in less than a year! That being said, I like the custom programming available with these units although they are not user-friendly to program.UPDATE: Shortly after posting this review I was contacted by the company. They were professional and exceptionally quick to right this issue. They replaced the defective unit and gave me a second unit at no charge. Also, they worked with me to program the replacement unit once it arrived. I am a happy camper. Thank you Techbee!

Only one knock on this timer: it's a little awkward to turn the lamp on or off manually. Even so, I'm happy with the purchase. It's simple enough to program with the instructions handy, and there are many options for scheduling your lamp with this unit. So far, both in the 2-pack have worked flawlessly.
