A brief railway history and detective novel?
An interesting history and a detective novel? Since the publication of the first edition in 1968, two of the original Manning Wardle locomotives have turned up on display in Brazil, whilst Davington's rare and unusual Ruston Proctor, oil fuelled locomotive, which had a long, varied, but basically unused career in Cornwall, now resides at the Vale of Rheidol Railway. Taylor M. Minter has a slightly idiosyncratic style of writing which is very endearing. The little volume has enough detail to satisfy the reader, yet, because of the degree of secrecy around the railway and gunpowder factory it served almost a century ago, it still retains intrigue and mystery. The narrative is also augmented by some interesting archival photographs, plans and maps.

An interesting account of local history
Very interesting book about an important piece of local history. Not much evidence of the railway left but you can trace the path of the original line on some places still.

I certainly hadn't heard of this one before and I found some good ideas for modelling
An interesting, short-lived railway used during WW1. I certainly hadn't heard of this one before and I found some good ideas for modelling.
