Shaving Soap Brush and Bowl Kit

I struggle with razor bumps, and this shaving set has made a huge difference. The shaving soap and cream create a thick, slick lather that lets the razor glide smoothly, and since I started using it, my razor bumps have basically disappeared. The included bowl and brush make it easy to work up a good lather, and the whole setup feels a lot more comfortable on my skin than regular canned shaving cream. On top of that, it’s a nice-looking set and would make a great gift. For anyone dealing with irritation and razor bumps, this has been a game changer for me.

Like the shave cream has a nice scent and the brush is great. Not used to the shaver. Very sharp and unforgiving if you’re not careful. Think I will stick to safety razors. Overall it is a nice product at a good price.

People say that the bowl is small, but I found it to be more than adequate. As far as the razor, it seems solid. I dried it off inside after shaving because I don't want it to rust and I recommend everyone else does, as well. The soap scents smell good, although the "Sweet Orange" is less masculine than the "Sandlewood". I agree with another reviewer that they don't lather well, but you can probably use a lot more to create more lather. One thing I found strange was the instructions. Neither the shaving cream nor the shaving soap instruct you to use the bowl or brush, which leaves you wondering what was the purpose of the bowl and brush lol. The instructions say to wet your face and the soap, then rub the soap on your face. I didn't do that. What I did, instead, was to soak the brush in hot water for a few minutes, then rub it against the soap to "load it up" with soap, then rub the brush against the bowl in circles to create the lather. The only downside to this is that the water from the soap will leave a bit of a mess so, if you're going this route, keep two bowls near you - one to hold the soap and one to create the lather. If you buy soap in the future, buy one that comes in a jar so you don't have to have two bowls around. The only thing that would've made this better is to have a stand, but I can't complain. For the price you pay, you can't beat this, and a stand ain't that expensive, either. Overall, I highly recommend this kit.

I haven't used the razor, I bought this for the other kit, and haven't tried the razor. The brush is my favorite thing about the kit. It works well, and has held up for a few weeks so far, no complaints. The steel bowl is very small, it works with the small soaps included, but I would not be surprised to find other brands not fitting. I've gone to a bigger soap and bigger bowl. The soaps are ok, not great, but ok. As mentioned, they are very small. They still last a good while. The soap produces some lather, but it's not what I would call "rich" or "thick" it's OK, somewhat functional. Since switching to a better soap without any other changes in my setup, I immediately noticed smoother gliding of the blade, less resistance, no/ few nicks. That all seems to come down to better soap. I also noticed this stuff makes my skin very oily later on, like it sucked all the oil out and my skin overproduces to make up for it. Not so with better soap. The kit comes with 2 scents, an orange scented one, and sandalwood. The orange scent I like, the sandalwood doesn't smell quite like sandalwood to me. It's OK, but if you like sandalwood, I would look elsewhere. Overall, what I used of this kit works ok, not great. I can't picture using it for long, you will pretty much upgrade out of all of it, likely before you even use up the soap. The brush is good, but is the kit worth buying for the brush alone? No, there's probably a better or at least equivalent brush you could buy for the price of this kit.

I’ve only used the cream in the tube not the pucks yet. I used my original bowl for the cream. The pucks that come with this are tiny, as also the bowl that is included. It’ll be an exact fit for the two. Never had any intention to use the bowl that comes with the bundle, but I don’t see how I can get an effective lather with my bigger standard size bowl. So I’ll have to use the included one. **Hopefully I’ll remember to do an update at a later time after I use the soap, just ran out of the cream this morning ** ***UPDATE*** Started using the actual soap puck within the last couple weeks and man lemme tell ya! I’d be hard pressed to choose a different brand. Sure, I worried like to see better sized pucks for the standard size bowls, but I haven’t experienced a good amount of lather from a low costing shaving soap in quite some time. This is worth every bit of the price you pay and so much more. Five stars for this item. Buy it!
