Looks good but doesn't last
I ordered this replacement for my craftsman compressor that was becoming slow. The item looked good, the finish was smooth on cylinder and the piston. Installation was straight forward and fairly simple. Remove the old parts, install the cylinder, align the piston and go. It worked well at first and ran just fine, air pressure was good and the compressor was notably quiet. Short duration times of running the compressor all was well. Then I used it with an air tool for an extended period, allowing the compressor to catch up and cool every 10 minutes or so after about 2 hrs of off on operation and a total of less than 10 hrs use, the compressor quit building air pressure. Conclusion : buy anew pump or original replacement if possible this one hasn't been worth the money or aggravtion.If you only use your compressor to air up a ture occasionally or to run a tool for a very few minutes it might work for you. I won't be trying another

Quick fix for 25 year old Air America compressor
This compressor worked great up until the piston ring and cylinder completely failed. A new cylinder and piston ring made it like new again. Easy to install.

Piston ring only lasted 10 months with moderate use.
I replaced the piston ring in June 2023, in the middle of doing a painting project this April 2024, the compressor quit building pressure and was running non stop. Upon tear down, the piston ring was missing chunks out of it, and the remaining ring was hard and brittle.

I was really surprised when I saw the quality of these parts. WAY better than the stamped out sleeve that came in my DeVilbiss compressor. Brought my old compressor back to life.

Expensive but very good quality
The parts are expensive compared to other vendors, but the compression ring is designed with an adequate edge curve and the sleeve has an excellent smooth finish
