So simple to install and really works for many different types of gates. Heavy gates too, just crank up the spring. Great value and Suoer quality

Works as advertised, with some minor issues
I have a front yard gate that was often being left unlatched by delivery drivers as they exited my property. This gate self-closer solved that issue for me. It seems heavy duty and I expect it to last for many years.My only real criticism is one that I have seen mentioned in other reviews. Most of the holes that are intended for the stop pin (which locks in the right amount of tension) and the adjustment bar, are too small in diameter to be used. It may just be that the tolerances were made too tight to accommodate the layer of paint. I ended up using a smaller-diameter Allen wrench as the adjustment bar. Only one of the holes fit the stop pin, but it just happened to be the one I needed for the correct tension for my gate, so I didn't have to solve that problem.The self-closer seems heavy duty and of good quality. I expect it to last. If the manufacturer fixes the problem with the unusable stop pin holes, I would bump up my rating from four to five stars.

Only one hole provided for tension adjustment instead of two
The picture on Amazon shows two holes for adjusting the spring tension after installation. The one iI received had only one hole so I could not adjust the tension. I woudl return it, but I am outside the return window. And as others have said the screws provided are flimsy and do not work on metal gates.

Works like a champ
Bought this after buying and breaking two springs from the big box store, to use on my side gate- for swimming pool code compliance. Superior design and not cheaply made.

It works. However!
Work great. However the ajustment holes are too small for the ajushment tool.Had to drill them out just a bit. If you dont own a drill do not order this spring.
