Worth it

My kid (2 1/2 yrs) is a runner and adventurer. They’d go off and do their own thing in the store if they could. This keeps them snug and secure close by. I LOVE it. They think they have freedom, but they’re safe. It’s compact I can easily bring it in a bag anytime

Great

My son is non verbal autistic and has eloped on me twice in April so I bought this and it was weird at first in public with it but it was for his safety great quality the design and comfortable my son would look for it so we can go outside it is durable. And easy to remove plus doesn’t weight but handles my sons strength lol.

Keeps them from running off

I bought this because my almost three year old is a runner! We were going camping near a river and there was an event going on. Because we were carrying backpacks and also our one year old, if he had bolted my wife and I probably wouldn’t be able to catch him. This strap worked great for keeping him close by. He only pulled it and fell a couple of times before he realized that he wasn’t going anywhere and just naturally walked at my side. I used the clip to attach it to my belt more than using the handle, which was only really used when we were loading up in the truck or going back into the camper. I really liked the adjustable length because I could keep him really close when walking through the event tent and also could extend it long enough that he could sit in the chair next to me at the dinner tables without having to take it off him. I really wish that I would have bought one for my second son because he was a runner as well, and I might have taken him to do more things if I could have kept him secure. My only complaint is that after a while the shoulder strap adjustment sliders start to loosen up and you need to tighten them back down. Luckily the chest strap Velcro was nice and secure and I never felt like he was about to escape from the harness.

Effective but falls apart quick.

This worked well for our Disney trip, but the Velcro started to pull the fibers of the harness apart—still functional, but looks awful.

Best In Class!

The first selling point that jumped out to me when I was perusing the market for child harness apparatuses was the fact that this rig does not place any pressure on sensitive areas like the stomach and groin. That significant attribute seems surprisingly overlooked in the majority of harnesses today, which leads me to believe that the market itself is rather undeveloped, but the future is looking bright. Now, you may or may not be hesitant to utilize a child-safety feature such as a this. Fear not, my friends. Much as the supply side has a few kinks to work out, so too does the demand side. Was Karl Benz's first attempt at the automobile a slam-dunk? Probably not. Were citizens of the late 1800's clamoring for self-driving cars? No. But, while all the horse and buggy merchants were sniggering and scoffing, he kept at it; sprinkle in a little Henry Ford and look where we are now. Don't let a few judgmental gazes hinder your commitment to top-of-the-line retention options.Obvious comfort and safety benefits to the child aside, let's look at the positive externalities. Right up on top of the packaging, I'm sure you see "Keeps your child at a safe distance!" Now we're talking! Safety for everyone? Sign me up. Also, this treasure just keeps on generating positive returns because it's adjustable up to a 25.5" torso. Incredible! I'm 6'2'' / 195 lbs and that's almost half the size of my chest. I don't know what kind of crazy growth spurts your kid will hit, but conservatively speaking, you're probably covered until age 12 depending on gender. After eagerly tearing open the packaging like a kid on Christmas, you'll notice that this harness comes with a wrist strap. While adjustable in length and better than nothing, it is unfortunately no more than some rope. This, as we all know, is a huge inconvenience. What happens if you just want to tether your kid in the living room during halftime while you freshen up beverages in the kitchen? I'll tell you: junior suddenly has 30-45 inches + wingspan of free ranging terror. That may not sound like much, but you tell me how convenient it is when you come back in at the start of the 3rd quarter to find the entire party platter of nachos wiped clean and what's left of the salsa coagulating on the newly upholstered sofa. It just won't work, so throw it away and get yourself a stout retractable dog leash. Anything rated for dogs up to 100 pounds should be good - chances are good your child won't outgrow the harness or the leash too quickly.

Served its purpose as a Disney World security blanket

I purchased this leash (let's be honest, it's a leash...) specifically to use on a trip to Disney World just to avoid my 4-year-old from being separated from the group. I wanted something that was not too bulky and that could be put on and taken off easily as she was not going to be wearing it the entire time we were there. At the time I purchased it, I was not positive that I would be using a stroller while there (I did, thankfully), so I thought I might get a lot of use out of this one.It is nothing special. It strapped easily around her chest and back, and the attachment is centered well so as not to pull off balance if the kid takes off running. It was light and even when the strap was removed she did not mind wearing it around. I only used it a few times, so I am not sure how well this might work if someone wants to use it regularly.According to the description, the shoulders are padded. I suppose that is technically correct, but the padding is not all that thick. It isn't something I really noticed when using it.The strap itself is about three feet long which might not be lengthy enough for some uses, but it was fine for my own. The strap itself is not flexible--that is, when it gets tight it is tight. Some leashes have a bit more give to them. Again, for my purposes, this worked just fine.If you are looking for something for everyday use or for certain outdoor environments, this probably would not be sufficient. I also do not know how well it would work on a smaller child, although mine is petite (about 35 pounds). It might not do as well on a smaller toddler.
