Left to fend for themselves, the rugged and resourceful dogs encounter danger at every turn, surviving for nearly six months while Walker and his closest colleagues (engagingly played by Bruce Greenwood, Moon Bloodgood, and American Pie's Jason Biggs) join forces to mount a daring rescue mission. Having endured similarly extreme conditions on his 1993 film Alive, director Frank Marshall brings an abundance of natural splendor (and minimum use of digital wizardry) to spectacularly arctic locations in Norway, Greenland and Canada, and Walker (star of The Fast and the Furious) lends an amiable sincerity to his compassionate role. For most viewers, however, it's the remarkable dogs (six Siberian huskies and two malamutes) who make Eight Below so thoroughly entertaining. Emotionally delightful movie
Inspired by true events, the courage and spirit of 8 slay dogs 2 Alaskan Malamutes and 6 Siberian Huskies that get left in the Antarctic during a cold hard winter inspired this brilliant movie. Their owner, played by Paul Walker was untiringly trying to get back to them. The dogs are well trained and played their parts tremendously good, you could not help but to fall in love with them. Additionally, there is great acting from Paul Walker and Bruce Greenwood. “Eight Below” was an emotionally delightful experience for me. It tugged at my heartstrings, compelled me, captivated my heart from the beginning of this movie to the end. This film will be an immeasurably entertaining emotional roller coaster ride of a movie for both children and adults.

Eight Below doesn't disappoint. My kids love it! Finally a movie my kids will watch that DOESN'T have vampires or wizards in it.
I saw this movie when it was first released on DVD and enjoyed it. Being an animal lover helps, I suppose. I was reminded of it with Paul Walker's sad and untimely passing and ordered the Blu-ray from Amazon. It does not disappoint and the first time my teenage daughters saw it they were hooked. Unbelievable scenery,the humans do a decent job of acting, and the dogs were fantastic. Gorgeous animals and I give 5 stars to the trainers who without them this movie would not have been possible. It has drama (there is a scary scene that may be too much for younger children), it tugs at the heartstrings ( have some tissues handy), and is a story of survival. This movie is a nice change because it is without wizards, sorcerors, vampires or any thing with the Gothic theme that is trendy and popular with our youth. What this movie has is intelligent, well trained animals in the rugged but beauteous Antartica. Plus it is based on true events. Paul Walker gives a fine performance. I'm giving this movie 4/5 stars due to not enough camera time on the four legged actors but nonetheless it's still quality, family entertainment. Thank you Disney!

Dog lovers & Cryers beware!
This was the best show to show how loyal and trusting they are and how they love & trust us unconditionally. I cried all the way through it. No true dog lover would have left his babies like that that was the unthinkable.
