Update: The main drum we use broke and put in a support replacement under warranty. They said the drum was free but had to pay shipping. That's not the way warranty works. Now the second drum has broken so it's in the recycle bin and have ordered a different brand. I'm a service manager and when our customers products break under warranty we do not require them to pay shipping. The product works great but does not last long under heavy use.Omg wow!! This product is so great! Originally purchased after we discovered what the white stuff on bagged cheese was. We now shred all our own cheese from natural blocks and the taste and melting is so much better. It's so easy and fast it adds no more time to our cooking. We now have started using it for homemade potato chips, Cucumber slices, shredded carrots, and shredded zucchini. It's much easier and safer than a mandolin. It's durable and dishwasher safe, so easy to clean. The shredded cheese is so good I love to eat it straight out of the bowl!

This is so much better than grating by hand. I have both a four-sided grater and a single side grater. I have very thin skin so I'm always slicing my fingers or knuckles on those things. This grater makes very quick work out of 2 lb blocks of cheese. The pros are the excellent choice of grating cups and the fact that everything goes in the dishwasher. And the speed with which you are able to grate a large amount of cheese. The cons are that when you get down towards the end of the block of cheese, sometimes a very thin slice gets impaled on the grating cup and does not grate. It just keeps rolling over and over inside the receptacle. I had to go through trial and error to find the right height and shape of bowl to catch the grated pieces. Also it seems to have some problem sticking to the counter. It works pretty well if I dampen my fingers and run it across the bottom and then turn the suction on. Even with these minor difficulties, I'd choose this over a manual grater any day.

Makes shredding large blocks of cheese so much faster and easier. Only issue is that the tab that holds the handle on needs to be a bit longer because it tends to pop off when shredding harder cheeses. Still a good purchase though.

I love this grater! Quick & easy to use! Love the color. Easy to clean. I only wish the part where the cheese comes out stuck out a little farther to hang over the bowl a little more. Cheese escapes the bowl because that just needs to come out from the grater a little more!

This should be a 5 star review except for a really poor feature. To detach the part that holds the grating barrels (hopper) there is a small tear drop shaped piece of hard plastic. It is difficult to get to, it doesn't move easily and the dumbest thing of all the tear drop shaped lever has pointy side at top so you stab yourself with a piece of hard plastic that doesn't want to move in order to release the hopper.Crazy to me that such an otherwise good product has such a flawed feature. Id like to give it 2 stars for dumb design but other features outweigh it.When I need to replace this I will buy a different brand. Too bad because of the 3 I've had (they last me about a year of frequent use) I think this one is the best, but not when I every time I use it I get stabbed and annoyed.

i’ve had this cheese shredder for several months when it works. It’s awesome. The problem is is that it will not stay on the stand properly and it keeps falling off so then cheese goes flying everywhere. What I mean by the stand is the plastic piece that is supposed to clip into the bottom blue base keeps flying off. I don’t know if it’s a design flaw or if it’s just my particular one that’s doing it. It doesn’t matter how much pressure I use or don’t use. It’s still the same results. Love the idea. Do not love the products.

I just wanted to take some time to thank Zulay Kitchen again for the great product. I bought it a year ago, the handle broke, and I reached out to support. They had quick responses and great customer service. The experience was so smooth and hassle free that I went out of my way to checkout their full website and ordered $60 in new stuff I'd not planned at all to spend, because I truly believe that it's rare to find the level of customer service you've provided anymore.I know just how painful people can make customer service and selling products is. They were kind, quick, and sincere, and even though I didn't know for sure the item would be covered by any sort of warranty, I was very happy to hear that they not only had a lifetime warranty but the grater I've had has been WAY worth the money spent. I was already willing to spend the money on a new one.Thank you again for a smooth transaction. Here's to hoping their company continues to grow and continue to keep its business model one of such a rare caliber.

I bought this rotary grater two years ago and I got a lot of use from it. I was using it at least once a week since I bought it. It is easy to set up, use and clean. The blade quality is great. It shred through potatoes, carrots and even that hard Mexican hot chocolate with ease. Overall a great value for the price.Over the past few months I started to notice that the suction feature was starting to fail. Of course I always went with user error as the reason but more and more, the suction would release halfway through the process. I was trying to use it last night and it would not stay attached no matter what. This is the same counter I’ve always used, dried it, wet it, tried different areas and it did not adhere no matter what. Without the stabilizing function of the suction, this gadget is obsolete. I love Zulay kitchen products and will continue to use them but this was a disappointing experience.
