Was a cap for the used oil container portion of this assembly provided so that this can be transported to an oil disposal site?

If you mean, did we get a cop that would seal off the portion of the reservoir where the silver tube goes into, the answer is No. In my opinion the idea is to pour this container into a container suitable for transport to an oil disposal site. I have 2 of these that I use. Can the drain funnel be mounted directly to the top of the catch can without the tubes?

I'm not totally sure because this was a gift If all else fails you could just cut the pipe mounted to funnel and then I know it would work
