Culligan RV-800 Exterior Pre-Tank Recreational Vehicle Water Filter with Hose

Though I have not tested the water for the effective removal of contaminants, I just bought my 2nd filter because we loved how the first one improved the taste of water at the campgrounds we visit. After one camping trip with our 2nd filter we agree this is a great product. I must note that it did not completely remove the excessive rust from the water, but that didn't bother us.

This filter seems to work great. We haven't noticed any taste or sediment since we started using them. Fairly simple to install in line with my pressure regulator. Only thing I'm not crazy about is that when you unhook it seems like you can never get all of the water out of it. I try to keep as clean as possible so I've started putting it in the sink since I don't want to seal it up and store in the underbelly, possible mold.

I bought this along with many other items in preparation for my vacation, opened the package today to get things set up and was disappointed that it didn't come with a short flex hose which I thought it did. So now I will have to fill my tanks without the filter until I can stop off somewhere and purchase a short hose. I will still give it 4 stars since I assume it will work well once I get the part I thought came with it.

I have purchased and used this product before. I am a single, full time, RV'er. This product lasted me a full year in my first purchase, filtering well water, in the first year. Previous to using this, I had regular problems with lime buildup in my faucets. Since using this filter, I have had a reduction in this issue, and have noticed less hard water buildup in my toilet, shower, and coffee maker. While it does not eliminate lime, the reduction in this is, alone, well worth the investment. It also has reduced the occasional changes and off flavors in the well water as precipitation changes happen in this area. I will purchase this carbon block filter again.

My husband and I are full time RV'ers so you never know what kind of water you'll get. This filter makes a huge difference in the taste no more chlorine taste no more sediment. It's so simple to attach, no more icky cloudy water.

I live full time in my RV and I get water from sources I'm unfamiliar with. This takes my concern out of using water like that. I used my first one for about a year anf estimated that I had put through about as many gallons as it was rated for and then I bought another one because I was that satisfied with the first one. I highly recommend it.

I have used one of these to filter the water supplied from the marina where we keep our boat for the season in New Jersey. After a while from the sun beating on the hose coming from the dock to the inlet on the boat the hose begins to build up a green coating on the interior. This filter which I have positioned just ahead of the inlet on the boat has prevented anything from entering the internal plumbing of the boat even the green stuff. Great filter and at a reasonable price. Easy to install as well.

The product arrived very quickly and I have no doubt is doing everything it is supposed to do. My only complaint is that the short connector hose has a leaky connection on the female end's crimping. This isn't an uncommon problem on that brand of hose. But I will still order the same filter when this one is expired.
