Hi, Thanks for your questions. We recommend to put the grill on stone or a metallic surface. While the temperature below the grill usually does not exceed 160 F degrees, we still recommend to not put it on wooden, cloth or plastic surfaces. The Otto Grill is made of 304 stainless steel and can be left outside without developing rust. The grilling time is approximately about 22 hours with a 25 lbs (ca. 11 kg) propane cylinder.
