Really great freeze-dried durian
Amazing flavor and freshness. I bought some freeze-dried durian from Costco and had an immediate craving for more. These are priced better than the Costco package, and the pieces are sweeter than the Costco ones on average. Still a bit pricey to buy regularly in my opinion, but they're a tasty treat if you can't get fresh durian locally. It did take a while to arrive, but it was worth the wait. Each package has 4 individually wrapped smaller packages inside, which can be helpful if you can't stop yourself from eating everything in one sitting (or to help maintain freshness if you don't immediately want to consume all of the delicious durian pieces for some reason). Each smaller package has ~8-12 durian chunks maybe 0.75"-1" in diameter. For some weird reason, there's usually one or two pieces that aren't as sweet and have a denser texture than the others, possibly due to where in the fruit the piece came from. The ratio of less sweet to delightfully sweet pieces seems pretty consistent between the packages though, so there doesn't seem to be a batch inconsistency issue.Btw, all the negative reviews criticizing the flavor seem to be from people who've never tasted the actual fruit before. These taste exactly like what you'd hope freeze-dried durian would taste like. If you let it sit in your mouth a while, it even regains some creaminess. Definitely a worthwhile buy.

Don’t buy this or you will regret it
I love durian and I eat it all the time, but this just doesn’t work. Have no taste and leave a very bad aftertaste.

Great substitute for fresh durian
My immediate family tried fresh durian in Singapore. The smell made us gag and eating it made some of us vomit. My tiny bite kept getting burped up all day and it was AWFUL. I wanted to let my extended family here in Texas experience that, so I bought these freeze dried durian pieces for our extended family Christmas gathering. I am not disappointed. Each bag pictured has 2 clear, smaller, sealed bags inside. No smell is found before opening it. After opening it though it's awful. My family members that were brave enough and tried it all thought it was horrible, gagging, and some had upset stomachs. All in all, a great Christmas and an excellent purchase. I definitely recommend if fresh durian isn't available.

A far cry from fresh
I *love* fresh durian, but I can't get any in my area. I've occasionally come across frozen ones, but the freezing ruins the texture, turning it into mush. I thought I would try this freeze-dried version, and it was fine I guess, but I wasn't won over by the chalky, crumbly texture, when what I really wanted was the silky, slippery, creamy, subtly fibrous texture of the fresh fruit. The texture was perfectly normal for freeze-dried fruit, so it wasn't in any way different than I was expecting, but the taste alone was not enough to make me a fan. Come to think of it, I can't think of any freeze-dried fruits I've particularly liked, so maybe that's just me. If you like the texture of freeze-dried fruit, along with the flavor of durian, I'm sure this will be delightful!

Not what I was expecting
I was expecting a terrible smell when I opened this. I didn't get anything that would send someone running away or searching their office for the source of the horrible smell.

Not bad.
It tastes good pretty consistently but I’m just not a big fan of the crispness of a freeze dried fruit. With durian, it’s gotta be soft and tender. But, it is what it is. This one actually melts a bit in your mouth, but I think the amount given is just okay, not great. I only wish there was more and that it was the Musan King Durian!

Great. I have a friend from Indonesia familiar with the fresh Durian who says it still has much of the fresh taste, only the smell is less.

A smelly and delicious product!
When I was living in China I enjoyed eating a fresh durian and at times durian candy. Since coming home to the U.S. I've missed this stinky fruit.I debated for a moment whether to buy one or two bags, gambled, and bought these two. The gamble paid off as this product tasted as good as the fresh fruit and smelled almost as pungent.I wish I could buy this locally!Biggest cons:ExpensiveTwo bags were not enough. I consumed these quicker than I expected.
