Park Tool CSH-1 Bicycle Clamping Spoke Holder

If you work on your bikes this is a must have. Can use of blade and round spokes.

Needed this on an old Zipp wheel with aluminum nipples on bladed stainless spokes.

This is a required tool especially with aluminum or bladed spokes. The overall length is 7" (178mm). There is this statement which is not true: "Compatible with round and bladed spokes 2.3 mm (13 gauge) wide or less." The opening in the jaws has a width of 0.105" (2.66mm) which will fit 12 gauge spokes which are 0.1" (2.54mm). Spokes can be clamped either parallel or perpendicular to the tool. Perpendicular clamping can be either left or right sides.The tool is also listed as a Qkcsh1 on Amazon and Park Tool Store yet this part number fails on the Park Tool website. The CLAMPING SPOKE HOLDER is clearly identified with printed part number CSH-1 in a gold color next to the pivot. Comfortable, compact, easy to use tool which seems to be made for the left hand as you turn a spoke wrench with your right hand (just like the photos) yet can be used in either hand. Glad I bought this tool.

I enjoy building mountain bike wheels. Spoke windup has always bin an issue. I gave these a try and they eliminate the issue. The ergonomic design allows different wrist positions with 3 side to clamp on to the spoke. Must have tool for my kit. Park Tool quality and big bang for the buck.

UPDATE: I have completed 3 29er wheel set's with Sapim Lazer spokes. I would not have completed my 3 wheel builds if I did not have this tool. I was able to firmly grip each spoke with the pliers to keep it from twisting without marring or gouging it. The DT Swiss Red Pro Spokey is also a good must have tool.

Great for holding onto those problem spokes.
