Norpro Deluxe Jumbo Potato Ricer

Nice, well made ricer. The last ricer I owned was flimsy and cratered within a year. I do use a ricer often and have been searching for a well built and reliable ricer. I glad I purchased this one. It’s a winner.

This is the best ricer I've ever used in terms of use, function, and ease of cleaning.I can't praise it highly-enough, get ready to get rid of your other ones—even better than most food mills.

Solid piece of equipment made for home cooks but has a commercial feel to it. Much more useful for ricing potatoes in larger batches. Notches provide stability on bowls and/or pans and the size of the basket is enough to hold 2 or 3 whole potatoes at a clip so ricing goes much quicker. Size probably to big for drawer storage but I just hang it on a hook in my pantry. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Definitely gets the job done on large quantities of potatoes, but cleaning is fussier than it should be, and you'll want the largest, strongest person in your household to use it. Not a great tool for Mom unless she lifts weights and climbs.

Large, heavy, and super-effective. The ricer easily comes apart to simplify cleaning, too.

The ONLY way to mash potatoes! Using a masher will often result in a gluey mess because it over works the potatoes. PRO TIP...Boil your potatoes in large pieces (so they are not water logged) with some garlic cloves until fork tender. Drain and run them through this, add butter ,salt and pepper to taste. Fluff it all up with minimal work and you end up with silky smooth mash. Because this thing is sturdy it a WAY less work than a traditional masher and you do not end up over working your spuds.

Outstanding product. Well designed, easy clean up and very sturdy. No more gummy mashed potatoes for us.
