I have an old Monitor with DVI connector that was sitting around and my wife suggested to set it up as a television. Taking that challenge, I realized that I needed something more to make that happen. I had an extra Google Chromecast that wasn't being used, but the challenge was how to carry the audio signal since DVI doesn't support audio. Also Chromecast doesn't support DVI directly (only HDMI). Discovered this product that has HDMI input (attached Chromecast to Converter), used speaker plug to extract sound to external speakers. Ended up finding an appropriate DVI cable for video (connect to Monitor and Converter) and works! Have been using this product so far for the past few days with no issues so far and Video/Sound quality is great. With this setup, you have to "cast" from a mobile device or computer to Chromecast, but once you understand how to do that, it is easy to watch Television/Movies. Very Happy to get this to work with low cost solution. Wife is happy!

This product is an excellent way to connect a monitor with a DVI input to an Amazon Fire TV Stick. I am using an NEC Multisync 20WMGX2 monitor (with a built-in TV tuner) and the video quality using this converter is excellent and the videos and movies are HD quality. The setup was easy and when combined with a 2 Port DVI switch box ( also purchased from Amazon), I can send the video and audio to the monitor either from the Fire TV Stick or desktop computer. The switch box has manual switches on the front to select the channel to input to the monitor and also a remote control so you can switch from computer to Fire Stick from the couch! I used a Y-shaped 3.5 mm headset adapter from Walmart to connect the audio output from this video converter to the audio input on the back of the NEC monitor. So, the audio output from the computer is attached to one leg of the Y-adapter and the audio output from the video converter is attached to the other leg of the Y-adapter. Then, the adapter is plugged into the monitor audio input. Only one output is being used at a time, so this works well and eliminates the need to plug and unplug audio cables from the monitor. I also used high quality video cables, which helped to prevent degradation in the video quality.I would definitely purchase this product again or recommend it to my friends who needed a high quality converter.

I had an old Dell monitor gathering dust that I decided to recycle into a monitor for an Arcade Cabinet. I have a Raspberry Pi connected via HDMI to this converter… which routed the video signal to the DVI port of my monitor and the audio signal to my amp. It works perfectly for this type of application. Very pleased with this purchase. If you want to build your own arcade cabinet and have an old monitor lying around that doesn’t have HDMI, you can’t go wrong with this. And on a personal note… if you don’t have your own arcade cabinet, you should really consider building one.

Never worked no matter what monitor I used or myriad cables (all new and functional) that worked fine without this "converter". Do they even test these peripherals before they go out?

This does exactly what I need it to do. Split HDMI off into a display port and 3.5mm audio plug.

si funciona y se ve bien la la imagen,estoy satisfecho con la compra, lo unico malo fue que el adaptador de corriente tine un falso contacto porque se apaga y se prende, tuve que usar el de otra unidqad que habia comprado pero que no fue compatible, pero el adaptador si sirvio para esta unidad.

This product is a great value and works perfectly. I thought it wasn't working right and the colors were messed up, but I had to change the color setting to HD on the monitor.
